Am I seriously the only one who notices how insanely similar her backstory is to Dexter Morgan? I mean, it's practical verbatim.

She was locked in a shipping container with her twin, made to watch her mother get dismembered, and the was adopted by a cop who taught her a code so that she coukd live a relatively normal life despite her dark passenger?

I like the changes you've made to her backstory for this universe! Explaining the kidnappers, having her join the Marines instead of the Army, having Montoya be a Marine as well... fun stuff. I like the official version just fine, but this is good too.

Very interesting. I knew Kate's dad was in the military but, not her mom. Does she have any family connection to Bruce in E-27? Knew Kate was tall but, assumed she and Helena was around the same size.

Jacob Kane is Bruce's uncle. So Kate and Bruce are cousins.
Kate and Helena are only an inch apart.

In this continuity, yup.
I always felt it was clumsy to have her written as being a military brat, entering the military, then stumbling through life unsure of a direction, only to have her decide to become a vigilante and go train with military special forces veterans (not to mention the whole inaccuracies of her having been a Marine in an Army officer program and having an Army tattoo instead of a Marine tattoo). So, I simplified it... and since this made her a bit older since she was effectively in the military for 9 years, I had her meet Renee Montoya in the military rather than how they meet in the comics... and also made the reason for their breaking up being that they were obviously deployed to different areas instead of whatever the reason was in the comics.

Definitely appreciate the changes you made (save the lack of vampire-pale). A bit less Bat ex machina, a bit more personal agency.
Montoya as a marine? That should make her time in the GCPD a little different. Is she still going to be the Question eventually?
