Description
Oh crap!!! I have to get this finished within an hour! From that thought, my adrenaline increased as the clock started ticking. Usually these perfect, well placed, clean and unadorned spheres can be done in 3 hours. But needless to say, I only had one sphere on the paper with only one hour left from potentially being awarded 10 pages of penalty sketches from my teacher.
I swiftly cut out the masking film on the composition. Working with new pastel and baby powder, I tried to carefully shade the black sphere and finish off with a pristine look. While taking a step back and looking through the translucent film, I noticed I had pushed a few specs of new pastel underneath the film. And so I had tried to carefully erase the markings without leaving a trace of what was behind. But my adrenaline was too high, and I slipped away from getting an immaculate look.
Feeling frustrated, I decided to give up on the craftmanship, turn it in done my way, and take the verbal abuse. Looking at my pastel blotted palms, i decided to press it on the brilliant white to relieve my frustration. Utilizing all the 45 minutes or so that i had left, I had guided my hands all around the spheres, not knowing what I would do to it. I had got some pastel on the white sphere and tried to erase it with my electric eraser. As I did so, I yelled out OOZE! The next thing I know, ooze was dripping all over the place and time had ran off.
Taking the work to show it to my teacher; I received a shrill laugh and ended up with my piece being displayed outside of the classroom. Unfortunately, I had also received an incomplete and had to redo the assignment following the correct guidelines. : )

This is a seriously impressive piece of work with some impressively smooth gradients. It feels a little like something from a science fiction story crossed with the more surreal type of dreams.

Yea, try mixing baby powder and grinded charcoal to get a nice and smooth gradation! Make sure the baby powder has the ingredient Talc in it.
