this was easy to follow until i got to the tail, then i lost it
after a while i think i lost track of what i was doing and it just didn't line up anymoreΒ

Which step did you get stuck on?

Hm... Well, it doesn't always have to strictly follow the pattern...
What is meant to happen - you need to decrease the amount of beads in a row, until there are only 3. Then the tail 'tube' is sewn shut, and the fin is connected there like a fringe.
You could try just finishing the bead, and starting the tail directly from it, too... Without the thin part. It' d be easier to say if i saw your fish though XD

Cute fish. I may try making it hollow, though, since I prefer hollow bead animals.

Good luck with it^^
It shouldn't be a problem to make it hollow

I know this might sound stupid but I do not know how to loop for the first step properly. My string ended up out at the wrong bead hole in step 2 >.< Im too used to crisscrossing 2 lines for beads.

Maybe this will help? [link]
You can google for peyote beaded beads, it's the same idea.

No wire here - only 0.1mm fishing line
