----------------------
I am pleased to announce that my first DVD cover for F.E.A.R. is finished and ready for public use! It was created when the F.E.A.R. community requested a DVD cover, as many people were not satisfied with the paper sleeve they received. This will not be the last one I create.
A few things to take note of: included in this pack are CD and DVD versions of a DVD case cover. It was requested of me to make this DVD cover with a CD-Rom logo, for the people who own a CD copy of F.E.A.R., rather than a DVD copy, but would like to store it in a DVD case using this DVD cover.
Also, there are three file types: PNG, PSD, and PDF. The PSD and PDF are of the highest resolution, while the PNG's is only slightly of a lower quality. Windows can view and print PNG files, for anyone who does not have access to Adobe software (although Adobe Reader, which is used to read the PDF files, is available for free from Adobe's website).
Within the next week I will be making available a version of this cover for CD cases. A preview will be released several days before the final version is released, for feedback and approval by VU Games, just like with this cover. After that, I will continue working on covers, both for CD and DVD cases, as I feel the need. Encouragement from the community will be the driving force. As long as they are wanted, I will continue creating different covers.
Please pass this around and let people know that there will be more to come. I hope everyone enjoys this as much as I enjoyed bringing it to the community. And a big thank you to everyone at VU, especially Greg, for being my go-between guy. And thanks to everyone who gave me feedback; it was (and still is) greatly appreciated.
Printing Tips
-------------
1.) Make sure the page orientation is set to landscape, or else the cover will not fit.
2.) Make sure the printing dimensions are 7.25 inches tall x 10.25 inches wide.
3.) I recommend using photo paper of some sort, as it gives the glossy finish that is customary of most DVD covers.
Finishing Tips
--------------
1.) For cutting out the cover, I recommend using a razor blade and a metal ruler or level. Scissors leave jaggy edges that can be eliminated by running a razor blade along a metal edge.
2.) Make sure you cut along the borders. There is a hair of wiggle room towards the inside, so do not cut very far inside the cover. Make sure you eliminate all of the white edges, as they ruin the cover; this is why the wiggle room exists.
3.) It will seem like the cover is too large to fit, but it is not. It will take some effort to place the cover in the case (I recommend opening the case up and bending it slightly backwards, so that you do not have to bend or fold the actual cover).
4.) Once you get it into the case and align it properly, closing the case will finish the job, and you will see that it is in fact the correct size.

Spectacular, my friend, this is marvelous, that's some great art. Are you planning on doing the same thing when Project Origin comes out?

I might if they ship Project Origin without a DVD/CD case like they did F.E.A.R. The only reason I made this was because my disk came in a paper sleeve, and I wanted to have a proper case, so I made my own.

There is a download link to the left of the preview image; if you click that it will download a ZIP file to your computer. Inside of that ZIP file are printing instructions for using it.
Thanks for the as well.

Dude, awsome... I'll take a look at it. I was actualy thinking of doing the same thing. Those paper sleeves were the stupidest thing I'd seen. Especialy since every game I now buy tends to be in the large DVD style case.

Thank you. I felt the same way, so I made this, and the cover for CD cases.
