Harry awoke that morning with a headache. He groaned as he turned over, expecting to see Draco there, and he was surprised when Draco wasn’t there. Harry sat up, looking around the room. Draco was nowhere in sight. Harry wondered for a moment where Draco had gone off to, and even considered looking for him. But in the end he decided to stay where he was. How much trouble could Draco get himself into, anyway? Harry flopped back onto his back, immediately regretting doing so as his head throbbed with the contact. He decided right then and there to just give up his Necromancy crusade. All of the meaningless searching was getting him nowhere and he was tired of the disappointment. Harry had accepted long ago that Sirius was never coming back. His mind understood but his heart was unable to let go. He had begun his obsession with Necromancy for that very reason. He just couldn’t let go. Harry rolled over onto his side, clutching his knees to his chest. He touched his fingers to his cheek and then pulled them back to be examined. He still wasn’t crying.
~~~
Draco stood at the foot of the staircase leading up to the attic. He still had a feeling that there was something up there that would help them. Draco wished he knew why he cared so much. Perhaps it was because he felt needed and important and just a little bit special. Harry Potter needed him, Draco Malfoy, more than he needed his stupid friends. Though, really, Harry’s friends weren’t as vile as he had once thought. Well, Ron was a bit of an overprotective prat at times, and Draco was pretty sure that the twins would eventually bring about the end of his life, and Ginny at one time had had her eye on Harry… how could Draco be sure she wouldn’t try to take Harry from him? And Hermione was not only a Mudblood, but an insufferable know-it-all as well….and…where had he been going with this? Even so, throwing all that aside, they weren’t bad people. They all cared deeply for Harry, so shouldn’t that make Draco happy?
Draco sighed. Why was he always thinking about Harry? It’s like he couldn’t escape him, not even in his thoughts. He could honestly say that there had never been one day since the day they’d met when Harry had not crossed Draco’s mind. That wasn’t a very encouraging thought. But, somehow, Draco was all right with that.
Draco suddenly realized that he had been grinning like a prat to himself and immediately stopped. Shaking his head and making up his mind, Draco began climbing the staircase. It didn’t take nearly as long as it had the night before. Mostly because Harry wasn’t there trying to drag him the other way. Draco pushed the door open and for the second time, surveyed the room. Again, there was nothing really out of the ordinary. Sure, it was a bit dusty and not kept up, but there was nothing there.
In the corner of the room in the depths of the shadows, Draco could see something moving. He automatically knew that it had to be Kreacher. Kreacher? He couldn’t be the reason the attic had been off limits, could he? The house-elf hardly seemed dangerous. He was more of a threat to himself than anything else. In fact, he appeared to be blissfully unaware of Draco’s presence. Well, perhaps blissful wasn’t exactly the right word. The word ‘deranged’ or ‘mad’ more fit the bill. Last night had been the first time Draco had come into contact with the house-elf, so he had no previous encounters to base his judgment on, but from what he could see the house-elf wasn’t the friendliest of creatures. Draco wasn’t sure if the house-elf would cooperate with him or not. It was quite possible that Kreacher knew something that could help them.
“House-elf,” Draco said, in the most commanding voice he could muster. “My name is Draco Malfoy, I am the heir to the Malfoy fortune.”
“Master is pure-blood?” the house-elf croaked.
“That is correct.”
“Kreacher will serve pure-blood Master!”
“That is unnecessary,” Draco said coldly. “I only require information from you.”
“Whatever Master wants, good Kreacher will dutifully oblige.” Kreacher gave him an exaggerated bow and Draco was sickened a little. House-elves in general had always made him uncomfortable and he had never been too fond of them. Not that Draco would have wanted to do the work they did himself but… well… it was a rather delicate situation.
Clearing his voice, Draco continued. “I need information concerning Necromancy. Do you have any?”
Kreacher suddenly appeared to be extremely uncomfortable. He wrung his knotted hands, while his blood-shot eyes darted about the room frantically.
“Kreacher does not have what Master wants,” he muttered. “What should Kreacher do? What should Kreacher tell Master? What will Master say?”
Draco frowned. Was Kreacher talking to Draco, or was he saying all of this to himself? The house-elf was obviously mental, but there was still a good chance that he knew something that could help them.
“All right,” Draco said. “I understand that you don’t have any information, yourself.” Kreacher looked shocked that Draco knew this and Draco resisted the urge to roll his eyes. Honestly, he had heard everything Kreacher had just said. “But perhaps you know where we could look.”
“There is someone who would know,” Kreacher started. He looked wildly around as if he was afraid of being overheard. He beckoned Draco closer. Draco leaned in closer so that the house-elf could whisper in his ear.
~~~
Draco bounded down the stairs. Finally they had a lead. It wasn’t much, but they were at least one step further than they had been. And who knew where this tiny piece of information could take them. Draco burst into the bedroom, excited to tell Harry what he had found. He was confused when he saw that Harry was still in bed. Draco frowned, striding over to the bed and shaking the bed frame a little. Harry groaned and waved him away like he was nothing more than an annoying insect.
“Come now, Potter,” Draco said, pulling the blankets off of Harry. “What are you still doing in bed? It’s nearly midday. I refuse to allow you to lie about all day in this stupid manner. Get up!” Harry turned over. Draco was taken aback by his appearance. “Are you quite all right?” Draco asked, concerned. “You’re not looking very well.”
“I just want to sleep, Draco,” Harry said, curling himself up into a ball on his side.
“But we have so much work to do. There’s no time to sleep. You can sleep when you’re dead.” Harry couldn’t help but smirk at this. He had once thought the same thing. “Which for you might not be that long of a wait,” Draco added. Well, this was true.
Harry shook his head. “It’s over, Draco.”
“What are you talking about?”
“This Necromancy obsession of mine. I’m sorry I dragged you into it. It’s over.”
“We can’t quit now. We’re close to something, Harry. I know we are. We can’t stop now.”
Harry looked at Draco’s stubborn face and wondered why he cared so much. It had nothing to do with him and yet he still was doing everything that he could. It was really quite admirable. But it still wasn’t enough.
“Draco, really. It’s done. I was being stupid. There’s nothing we can do.”
“I found a name,” Draco said brusquely.
“A name?”
“Yes.”
Harry waited for more, but Draco didn’t say anything else. “Well?” Harry asked eagerly. “What is it?”
“I thought you had given up,” Draco answered. “I thought it was over. Why would you want the name now? What good would it do you?”
“Come on, just give me the name!”
“I don’t think I will now. If you’re just going to give up so easily I don’t see the point.”
But Harry wasn’t going to take ‘no’ for an answer. Not now that there might actually be hope again. Before Draco knew what was happening, Harry leapt out of bed and tackled him to the ground. Harry latched himself onto Draco and held on as tightly as he could. Draco shrieked and tried to push Harry away, but was unable to move him.
“Potter, get off me,” Draco gasped.
“No.”
“I’m finding it difficult to breathe, please let go.”
“Not until you give me the name.”
“Let go of me, you wanker!”
“I told you. Give me the name and I will.”
“Get off!”
“The name!”
“Morgana!”
Harry let go and Draco immediately shifted away from him. He leaned his head against the side of the bed, breathing heavily.
“Bloody hell, you git, that hurt!” Draco exclaimed, still gasping. “Brute,” he added for good measure.
“Oh hush up, Malfoy. It couldn’t have hurt that much. You’re still alive, after all.”
Draco sniffed and looked away. He would never admit to Harry that being held so close had excited him.
“Morgana?” Harry questioned. “The name is Morgana?” It sounded strangely familiar.
“Yes,” Draco said.
“Have you heard of her?” Harry asked.
“Only in passing. She’s mentioned in history books that I’ve read. Though I highly doubt that it’s the same one. She’d be ages old if that were the case.”
“Who is she?”
“You’re joking, right?” Draco asked incredulously. Harry shook his head. Draco sighed. “This is the problem with growing up with Muggles.”
“Don’t start with that,” Harry warned. “You know it has nothing to do with growing up with Muggles. I bet if we ask Hermione she could tell us everything we ever wanted to know about Morgana and more.”
Draco sighed again. Yes, that was probably true. Hermione Granger seemed to know everything. “All right,” he said. “You win.”
Harry gave a nervous cough and rubbed the back of his head awkwardly. He hadn’t meant to make Draco feel bad. However, the fact remained that Draco needed to throw aside his silly prejudices. “Where did you find her name?” Harry asked. “We’ve been over every book in the hidden library a thousand times.”
“Kreacher gave it to me.”
“Kreacher?” Harry questioned cynically. “Kreacher? But he’s mental!”
“He served the Black family. He knows a lot. More than you give him credit for.”
“I don’t know what I’m more bothered by, getting information out of Kreacher or you actually going back up there after what happened,” Harry said honestly.
“It doesn’t matter where the information comes from,” Draco responded. “As long as it’s somewhat credible, we can go from there. And in regards to me searching the attic again, I just had a feeling that there was something up there that we missed. I was right, wasn’t I?”
Well, yes, but it still was somewhat agitating that Draco had done that. Harry pulled himself up off the floor only to sink back down on his bed. Draco watched him for a moment before joining him.
“All right,” Harry finally said. “We have a name. So what? Does that really help us at all?”
Draco considered the question before answering, “It depends. If we can find this Morgana person then we can interrogate her.”
“She’s not a criminal, Draco” Harry said dryly. “We’d be lucky if she answers any of our questions. But, hang on, what do you mean, ‘find’? You don’t intend on leaving Grimmald Place, do you?”
“That’s exactly what I intend on doing, Potter.”
“But we can’t leave!”
“Why is that?” Draco asked.
“Because we’re not allowed!” Harry exclaimed.
“Because we’re not allowed?” Draco repeated. “Potter, when are you going to learn that rules are meant to be broken?”
“Rules are not meant to be broken,” Harry argued. “And stop calling me Potter.”
“All right,” Draco said, exasperated. “Harry, I do have to know how serious you are about all of this. Are you truly committed to bringing your godfather back? Or is this just a little summer diversion to distract yourself?”
“Of course I’m committed!” Harry shouted. He was enraged that Draco would question such a thing. This was Sirius they were talking about. Harry wanted him back more than anything in the world. He missed him so much at times that his body would ache.
“It just seems to me that someone who is as committed as you say that you are would stop at nothing, even if it meant breaking a few silly rules. I also recall a certain someone wanting to give up a mere half hour ago.”
“I’m only human, Draco,” Harry growled.
“Do you want to know what I think?”
“No, I don’t! For the past month, all I’ve been listening to are your opinions! I’m sick of them!”
“Too bad! I’m going to tell you anyway. I think you started this whole crusade on a whim, thinking that nothing would ever come of it. It was merely a way to distract yourself from reality.”
“I don’t have to listen to this,” Harry said, jumping up off the bed and heading toward the door. Draco followed right after him, grabbing Harry by the arm and swinging him back around so that they were face to face.
“You’re going to hear me out!” Draco said. “As long as you believed you were doing something, you were all right, but now that everything’s getting a little too real for you, you can’t handle it, and you’re trying to run off!”
“Is that all?”
“We could go on for days, Harry,” Draco said, emphasizing his name. “But for now that’s all I have to say.”
“Good, then let’s talk about you for a few moments, shall we?” Harry said in a mockingly polite voice.
“Me?”
“Yes,” Harry said. “Poor Draco Malfoy, locked away with blood traitors and Mudbloods for the summer. His own mother abandoned him. He clings to the only person in the house who will tolerate him.”
“Don’t talk about my mother!” Draco snarled. “And don’t talk about things you don’t understand!”
“So tell me how you really got those bruises. I bet you just fell down the stairs and enchanted them to stick. Trying to gain a little sympathy?” As soon as the words left Harry’s mouth, he regretted them. Draco had made him angry, but there was no excuse to say something so low. When had he become so cold-hearted?
Draco’s face was contorted with fury and tears began to form in his eyes. “How dare you,” Draco said in a low voice. “How dare you! Making up such slander. You have no right!”
Draco turned to storm out the door, and this time it was Harry’s turn to stop him.
“Draco!” Harry exclaimed, holding Draco’s arm with both hands. “I’m sorry! That was horrible. I’m sorry.”
“I’m not here just for your amusement, Potter.”
Harry shuddered at the ice in Draco’s voice. “I know you’re not.” Draco didn’t say anything else and simply glared at Harry. “Look,” Harry continued, sliding his hands down Draco’s arm to hold his hand. “I know we both have a few issues to work out.”
Draco snorted. “A few?”
“All right, all right,” Harry conceded. “A lot. But I also know we’ll be able to work them out a great deal better together.”
“I have to hand it to you,” Draco said. “You sure are good at spouting sappy lines.”
“I’m a hero,” Harry said, dryly. “It’s in the job description.”
Draco looked down at Harry’s hands covering his. “I’m still mad at you, you know. That was a very hurtful thing you just said.”
“I’m not too pleased with you, either at the moment.”
“We’re going to kill each other someday, you realize.”
“Most likely,” Harry said, laughing.
“I mean it, Harry,” Draco insisted, squeezing both of Harry’s hands. “Have you ever heard the expression ‘doomed from the start’?”
“Ah, c’mon, that’s taking it a little too far, don’t you think?” Harry told him. He shook Draco’s hand a little to loosen him up. “We’re bound to get into a few scraps now and then. It’s only normal. What couple doesn’t?”
“Couple?” Draco questioned slyly. “Is that what you think we are? That’s quite presumptuous, Mr. Potter.” He let go of Harry’s hands and snaked his arms around Harry’s neck, pulling him close.
“I’m a Gryffindor,” Harry said, drifting closer so that their mouths were nearly touching. “We’re rather bold.”
“And I’m a Slytherin,” Draco responded.
“Which makes you rather sinister,” Harry said.
“And intimidating,” Draco added.
“And intimidating,” Harry complied.
“And cunning.”
“And cunning.”
“Who has gorgeous hair,” Draco went on.
“Very gorgeous hair.”
“Who also happens to be a sex god.”
“Definitely a sex god,” Harry said, nuzzling Draco cheek.
“Who everyone is cruel to just because they’re jealous of how incredible he happens to be.”
“Now you’re pushing it,” Harry breathed, closing the distance between their mouths. Draco protested a little by nipping Harry’s lips, but then relinquished all control to Harry. Harry was surprised when Draco gave in and turned all control over to him. Draco didn’t seem the type to be submissive, especially since he had such a dominating personality in general. Then again, perhaps that was why he abandoned that side of him during intimate moments. Whatever the reason, Harry wasn’t complaining as he slid his hand down to the small of Draco’s back, holding him tight. Draco pulled back, smiled a little and kissed Harry on the nose. Well, it seemed that Draco still called the shots.
“Harry,” Draco began. “I’ve been through so much, please don’t give me another reason to cry.”
“I won’t,” Harry said, lifting his hand to the bruise on Draco’s cheek and stroking it gently. “I promise.”
“I’d like to believe you.” Draco said, placing his hand over Harry’s on his face.
Harry hadn’t gotten any closer to finding out what exactly had happened to Draco. The guilt from accusing Draco of seeking attention gurgled from somewhere in his belly. Harry knew now more than ever that was the farthest thing from the truth. Harry only hoped Draco could forgive him for being so cruel. Harry was sickened by his own behavior. This wasn’t the type of person he wanted to be. He had to be sure nothing like this would ever happen again. He was resolved to monitor his actions and make a difference.
Harry let out a long exhale and dropped his hand from Draco’s face. “So,” Harry said. “How are we going to find this Morgana?”
“We’ll ask the Oracle, of course.”

Alright, hun, it's just if you had been through all the shit I've been through in the past month on top of trying to keep up with your college work which is at least 5 additional hours outside of class, which is everyday, hardly getting any sleep and having to be the strong one so everyone around you doesn't freak out, you wouldn't have had the time to write, or even think about it...
I'm sorry if I sounded harsh earlier, but I really have been through a lot in the past month, and am exhausted, I feel like I haven't slept in weeks.
I already felt bad enough that I didn't have the time to update, I hate waiting so I hate keeping people waiting, that's not who I am at all, I've just been through so much shit that by all rights I shouldn't have been a part of in the first place and now have people depending on me. I didn't even get to celebrate my birthday which was a week ago, I even forgot that it was my birthday, until someone called me. I really do feel bad that it's taken so long. I don't hold out chapters on purpose.
Now that I've explained a little bit, maybe you'll see that I wasn't being lazy or had just run out of ideas, that I was in a bad situation, and maybe you'll be able to forgive me. I've posted it now, that is if you still want to read it.
