“Everything all right?” Hermione asked as soon as Harry and Draco entered the kitchen.

“Yeah,” Harry said. He placed his hand over his chest, where the key Draco had just given him was nestled safely under his clothes. “Everything is great.”

“Well,” George said, clapping his hands together. “Who wants breakfast? I hear Hermione has cooked up something special.”

“It’s nothing much,” Hermione said, turning scarlet.

There was a general murmur of assent and everyone sat down around the table, helping themselves to the food that Hermione began setting out.

Draco pulled his plate toward himself and began shoveling the food into his mouth as if it was the last time he was ever going to eat. Everyone in the room couldn’t help but stop and stare. Previously, Draco had barely eaten anything. And it was not uncommon for him to leave his plate in the same state than when he began.
Draco looked up and saw that everyone was staring at him.

“What?” Draco asked around a mouthful of eggs. He went back to eating without waiting for a response.

Harry caught Hermione’s eye. She looked very confused and shook her head a little.

“Errr…Draco?” Harry said hesitantly.

“What is it, Potter?” Draco asked indignantly.

“Are you feeling all right?”

“Quite all right,” Draco answered.

Before Harry could say another word, Draco suddenly stopped, putting down his fork and placing his hand over his mouth. “I’m not feeling very well,” he said through his hand before jumping up and dashing out of the room.

Everyone’s eyes turned towards Harry. “What?” Harry asked self-consciously.
“Well,” Hermione began, “normally when Draco Malfoy leaves the room that suddenly, you follow after him a moment later.”

Had they really become so predictable?

Everyone nodded assent. Even Ron, who was about the most clueless person ever, nodded his head solemnly. Harry sighed. Being so easy to figure out couldn’t be a good thing. He didn’t think that anyone, save the twins, knew about him and Draco. Harry had wondered for a time whether Hermione knew or not. Though he could be certain that she wouldn’t say anything, even if she did know. But if the others didn’t know now, they would undoubtedly soon find out. Harry’s relationship with Draco could only be concealed for so long. Especially come tomorrow morning when they would be discovered missing.

“You better go after him, hero,” Fred said, giving Harry a little nudge.

“He is an honorary member of the tribe, after all,” George added.

“Tribe?” Ginny questioned. “What tribe?”

“This tribe, of course,” Fred exclaimed. He gave a grand sweep of his arm, indicating the entire room.

Ginny wrinkled her nose. “We’re a tribe?” she asked dubiously.

“Right on, little sister,” George said.

“Why are we a tribe?”

“Because we are still rather primitive, I am sorry to say,” Fred said.

“We could be a clan, someday.”

“But, alas, we are not quite clan status, yet.”

“All right! We get it!” Ginny said, exasperated.

Having heard enough as well, Harry got up and followed in the general direction where Draco had gone. If he’d but turned around as he left, he would have seen George give Fred a very meaningful glance.

                                                             ~~~
Harry found Draco in the downstairs bathroom. Draco was bent down on his knees being violently sick into the toilet. Harry closed the door behind him and sat down, leaning his head against the door as Draco continued to throw up. Part of Harry wanted to go and wrap his arms around Draco until he was finished. But he didn’t think that Draco wished him to do that. So all Harry could do was watch and hope it would end soon. If not for Draco, then for himself. Watching a person vomit the entire contents of his stomach into the toilet was painful to watch. Painful and nauseating.
At last, Draco reemerged, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. His face was stark white,  he looked weak and he was shaking all over.
“Disgusting,” Draco grimaced, accepting the towel Harry offered him.
“Feeling better?” Harry asked. Though he needn’t have bothered. He already knew the answer.
“Not really,” Draco replied. He sat back against the wall in front of the toilet. He was breathing heavily, and he looked as though he might vomit again soon. He wiped his mouth with the towel Harry had just given him and then he wiped his hands with the towel. His hands were still shaking.
“I know you’re scared,” Harry said quietly. Draco didn’t say anything. He didn’t even look at Harry “It’s all right to be afraid,” Harry continued. “I’m scared, too. We just can’t let our fear determine what we do.”
Draco chuckled darkly. “Spoken like a true Gryffindor,” he said. He then added softly, “I don’t want to be afraid.”
Harry didn’t want Draco to be afraid, either. In fact, he didn’t want to be afraid, himself. He watched as Draco raked his fingers heavily through his flaxen locks. Draco Malfoy had lost his pride. It killed Harry to see him like this. Draco had always been so proud, so strong. A bit of a snob, yes, but not weak, never weak. Draco was now less self-centered, though, which was, of course, a good thing. But had his pride truly been a weakness? Had it really been such a bad thing? Harry wasn’t sure he had the answers to those questions. He didn’t know if anyone did, for that matter.
“We’re running out of time,” Draco said suddenly.
“I know,” Harry said.
Draco shook his head. “I don’t think you do.” Harry waited, saying nothing. “I’m running out of time,” Draco said in a weak voice. “I know everything is happening really fast for us but I’m afraid that we have to move this fast, because there might not be a tomorrow.”
Harry could understand that. They had to do whatever they wanted to today because there was no guarantee for tomorrow. Harry could understand that perfectly. Draco wasn’t the only one whose chance for survival was uncertain.
“We just need to find Morgana so I can get Sirius back,” Harry said. “Everything will be all right then.” He gulped as Sirius’ lopsided smile flashed through his mind. It was like a record being played over and over again in his head. He saw Sirius turn, smile and call his name, again and again. His arms, reaching out, beckoning Harry over to him. How he longed to go into them. How he longed for Sirius to be with him. Harry hadn’t realized it at the time, but whenever he’d been with Sirius, he’d been home.
Harry looked up and saw that Draco was watching him with narrowed eyes.
“What?” Harry said, feeling suddenly self-conscious under Draco’s calculating gaze.
“You loved him,” Draco said. “Sirius Black.”
Harry was suddenly confused. “Of course I loved him, Draco. He was my godfather.”
“No, I mean you were in love with him…you still are.”
“Draco, that’s ridiculous.”
“Is it?” Draco asked.
Was it? Harry didn’t know. Nor was he going to ponder over it at the moment. Any thoughts about Sirius were still far too painful, and yet, he seemed to be the one who was in Harry’s thoughts constantly.
“It’s all right,” Draco whispered. He was suddenly right beside Harry. “You don’t need to explain. I won’t leave you. I’ll be by your side until the end.”
Draco leaned his head against Harry’s shoulder, closing his eyes and sighing. Harry put his arm around him. Harry only had to wonder when the end would be and how soon it would come.
                                                               ~~~

Draco was worried. Yes, Draco Malfoy, Slytherin’s prince, was worried. Or perhaps alarmed, or maybe even petrified would have been the correct word to use. He had to be completely and utterly out of his senses to even consider going against professor Snape’s warning. Going against his father’s wishes and throwing himself into the mercy of the outside world. Yes, Draco Malfoy was out of his senses and petrified. This was not going to end well. He was certain of it.

                                                                ~~~
The rest of the day passed in a blur for Harry. He felt somewhat guilty that he would be leaving after all the festivities were over. Leaving without a word. Sneaking out…again. He had thought that security would be tightened after he snuck out the first time. But it appeared not to have been changed. That made him feel even worse. The adults obviously thought that Harry had learned his lesson and wouldn’t try to leave again. How wrong they were. They hadn’t even taken away his invisibility cloak, and sneaking out of the house without being caught would be only a simple matter of putting the cloak on and walking out the front door. It was easy. A little too easy.
Draco was busy packing up his knapsack. Harry didn’t know what Draco was putting inside his knapsack. He didn’t care to know. Harry decided to go over to the window and look out of it one last time. Harry watched as the sun disappeared behind the trees and everything began to glow in the orange hue of the sunset.
“I think that’s that,” Draco said at last, closing the top of his knapsack.
Harry grunted his assent, not bothering to turn around. Draco went over and stood next to him. Without a word, he took Harry’s hand in his.
Outside the wind began to blow through the trees. The branches swayed here and there as though they were part of a dance.
“That’s that,” Harry echoed softly. It was truly an amazing thing how calm he felt. So much lay ahead of him, and yet he felt absolutely nothing but the utmost calm. All of his fear seemed to have left him. Carried away with the wind outside of his window. He turned to Draco and smiled.
“What are you so cheerful about, Potter?” Draco asked, sticking his nose in the air. “This is hardly an occasion for merriment.”
This only made Harry smile even more. “I’m glad you’re here with me,” Harry answered. He truly was, too. It was unbelievable that a mere month ago, Harry and Draco had despised each other. And now here they were, going off together on an undertaking of their own. Yes, it was quite remarkable indeed.
Draco smiled back in spite of himself and said, “Well, let’s just not stand about all day.”
“Right,” Harry agreed. He turned and grabbed his invisibility cloak off of his bed. He motioned Draco to come which he did without hesitation.
“This is it,” Harry said. The light was fading steadily from the window. Harry wrapped his arm around Draco and was just about to throw the invisibility cloak over them when…
“Leaving so soon?”
Harry and Draco turned around to see Fred and George standing innocently there, side by side. There was something strange about them…well, stranger than usual. Harry could normally tell the twins apart, but not while they were like this. He’d always had a notion that the twins were two parts of the same whole. One of them could not exist without the other.
Harry shook himself and said defensively, “You can’t stop us.”
“We’re not going to stop you,” said one of the twins.
Harry frowned. “You can’t come with us, either.”
“We don’t want to come with you,” said the other.
Now Harry was confused. What did they want, then? They weren’t doing anything. They were just standing there, looking very unlike themselves.
“Then would you mind telling us what it is that you want, exactly?” Draco said irritably.
“Be careful,” the twins murmured in unison.
There was a very pregnant pause, in which nobody moved. Then, Harry nodded, took Draco’s hand and pulled the invisibility cloak around them. They disappeared from sight.
For a moment nothing happened. And the twins stood there, side by side like statues. Then, George slipped his hand into Fred’s, giving him a sideways glance. Fred tightened his hand, linking their fingers together. He met his brother’s eye for a moment before they went back to staring at the place Harry and Draco had just disappeared.
