Description
I haven't been uploading for a while because of this little guy right here.Sorry it's not the best photo > >
It has a wooden pole for the base. Then I just layered installation foam sheets and regular foam sheets.
It's around 2' wide and 7'6'' tall.
Had quite a hard time chucking it through Anime Expo T T
But nonetheless, it was fun to see the shock on people's faces XD
Can't wait until the game comes out.
In the mean time, I will be working on 3 new cosplays:
Emizel-Disgaea 4
Tiara-Fairy Fencer
Fang-Fairy Fencer
*Debating if I should cosplay Ruby from RWBY. If possible, I will make the scythe retractable. -Currently dissecting umbrellas-

Wow. That's really good.Β
I was actually planning on doing a God Eater cosplay myself this year.Β
I won't ask for a tutorial or anything, but would you mind going into a little more detail on how you made this?Β

I'm not too good with words, but I'll try XD
As I've said, the base is a wooden stick. Though the sword only weighs 10lbs, the size is a problem so I split the rod, inserted aluminum sheets, and put in screws.Β
I did a paper sketch on butcher paper, cut it out 4 on installation foam(1in thick) then carved the middle of 2 of the pieces so that the rod would fit. I made this before discovering contact cement so I used wires and hole-punched metal like how one would use washers for screws so that the wire won't just go right through the foam. Then just glue on the other 2 pieces to cover up the wires. I always cut the foam a little bigger than it should be because when you glue them, they probably won't be perfect so just do some trimming after the glue dries. For details, I sketch then cut them out into pieces. Some pieces aren't flat so I just try to get the shape with butcher paper first before I copy and paste it onto the craft foam sheets. Then it's just a bunch of layers for detail. Some warnings: don't use spray paint on the installation foam since it "eats" it. I suggest covering it with foam sheets first, then use plastidip. Afterwards just paint it however you like. Oh and the foam sheets will expand when you spray paint them, so make sure you glue it well. For this one, I cheated and used double sided tape and the whole sword turned bubbly XD Luckily it shrinks back when it dries. However, when I was down at Anime Expo sitting in the sun, it started to expand a little.
Well that's about it. Here's some WIP pictures. Good luck 8D

Oh jeez. Thank you so much- this really helps a lot. Β This answers pretty much all of the questions I had.Β
And hate to pester you but where did you buy your supplies? I'm sure I could figure out where to get them, just thought I'd ask.
Also what did you use to cut and shape the foam? I have access to the tools I'm sure I just wanted to know what you used.Β
I was actually going to make a long blade, but after playing the GE2 demo I fell in love with the new Buster Blade.
Again, thanks for the help. This is actually my first time doing any sort of cosplay.
