Description
Checkout 2007They’ve been walking in our shoes while we sleep,
While we’re running from the truth ‘cause we keep
Our sweetest secrets under lock and key
In a hotel room that we rent for free.
I used to know, so well, the porter there,
A man who wore home-made scarves and anoraks,
And whilst walking, never stepped on cracks.
One night we wafted down the avenue
And came up with an acceptable plan
To carve a sculpture of Gisele in cheese,
And laugh so hard we’d fall onto our knees.
I’m too scared to fall, too tired to hold on,
But the ticking wristwatch and raindrops fine
Are safe in a place until checkout time.
