I like your color scheme. I don't know all that much about Eddsworld, but i've seen the first episode. The way you lay clothing is phenomenal. Keep it up! 
The biggest issue with the redone version would have to be the words. I get that it would be a bit crushed on space, but i know the song that you're trying to quote is Panic! At the disco's 'house of memories'. It would look eons better if you changed the bottom of the piece to 'house' and 'of memories'. It syncs better with the song. 
The most dynamic out of the four parts of the improved piece is the purple side (sorry i don't know their names lmao), and it's because both of his hands are in the picture doing something. The red man's pose is a major improvement from the other one because you can see at least one of his hands, but it isn't really enough to stand out to me.
I like how you put more emphasis on the different personalities of blue and red, because in the old piece, they looked like carbon copies of the same pose. if you plan to redo this piece each year, (which i encourage, it's a fun thing to do and i wish i did it), I would suggest putting both of their hands in the picture for each character. If not, make their faces look unique and dynamic. You've made a good example here in the newest piece.
Even though each face is different in this piece, i encourage you to try making new and dynamic facial structures for your characters. It makes them look unique and special, and it helps people differentiate between them. If you feel like you aren't ready, try making extreme differences in the faces. This isn't particularly to eddsworld, but more to you as an artist.
Back to the piece! I really like the reflection in the mirror, because it gives a better effect. I love your sense of dimension with his pose and the mirror. 
I see you took my advice for the new shading with mr. purple! It's much easier to enjoy a design when their skin looks bright. For comparison, green's skin tone looks very dark, because you used a tone that's just under the skin tone. 
As we're wrapping up, I noticed that something doesn't look right on green. I think it's either the hair or the ears that are throwing me off. Try making your ears a little bit bigger on your characters and see how that helps!
I know i said a lot about this piece, but I really do like it. You've improved drastically over the years. I'm proud of you. Remember that this is just my opinion, and you can take this however you will! God bless, have a fantastic rest of your day!
