Chapter Six:  Chick-Flicks
---------------------------------------

The pair left the group, walking together back to where they had parked.  They had carpooled together in Ide’s car.  As Ide unlocked the door with a click of a button, Matsu dashed to the driver’s seat.

“Matsu!”

The man grinned.  “I want to drive!”

Ide sighed, getting into the passenger’s seat and handing over the keys. “Fine.”
Matsuda’s slightly reckless driving made Ide nervous, and Ide’s nervousness made Matsuda laugh, which seemed to make his driving even more reckless.  However, he managed to get them safely back into the city.

Suddenly, Matsuda pulled over.

“Why are we stopping?” asked Ide, confused.

“It’s a surprise!”  Matsuda unbuckled and got out of the car.  Ide made to get follow him, but Matsu stopped him.  “No, you stay here. I’ll be back in a minute!”

Matsu took the keys with him and walked down the sidewalk, turning the corner and disappearing for several minutes.  When he returned, he had an unmarked plastic bag with him.

“Matsu, what-?”

“Hush!  You’ll see soon enough.”  Matsuda started driving again.  This time, he was headed back to headquarters.  When they got there, Matsu got out of the car.  He went to the passenger’s side and pulled Ide out with him.  Pulling him along by his hand, he took him up to his own suite.

“Now would you tell me what’s going on?”  Ide was looking a little grumpy, which made Matsu laugh.  He was so cute when he was grumpy!

Setting down the plastic bag on the counter, Matsuda took both of Ide’s hands in his own.  Pulling him close, he whispered, “Now’s the time.”

Ide gulped.

“Should I go first?” Matsuda asked.

“No way,” Ide laughed.  “I’ve wanted to do this for way too long.”

They both laughed a little nervously, pulling closer to each other.

“Matsuda,” Ide began, “Working with you, side by side, for these last six years, I’ve gotten to know you pretty well.  At first, I admit I thought you were kind of annoying.  But I quickly realized that you’re funny, and you always stay positive.  And you’re so much smarter than everyone gives you credit for.  And you are the bravest, most beautiful man I’ve ever known.  Matsuda, I love you.”

Matsuda squeezed Ide’s hands, getting a little misty-eyed at the man’s confession.

“I love you, too!”

He closed the gap between them and locked him in a passionate kiss.  He let go of his hands so that they could wrap their arms around each other.  After a few moments, they broke the kiss, both grinning, still holding each other in a tight embrace.

“You’re so good, Ide.  So loyal and dedicated.”  Matsuda nuzzled against his new boyfriend.  “I couldn’t ask for more!”

Ide laughed squeezing him affectionately.  Who knew that love could feel this good?
He leaned close to Matsuda’s ear.  “So, what’s in the bag, anyway?”

They let go of each other and Matsuda blushed, giving Ide a sheepish smile.  He took a stack of DVD’s out of the bag.  He noticed they featured titles like ‘Fifty First Dates’ and ‘PS I love you’.  Ide even spotted ‘Brokeback Mountain’.   “Well, you did say you’d watch some movies with me.  I haven’t watched a decent movie in years, so I’ve got some catching up to do.”

Ide chuckled.  “Of course, but only if we get to cuddle.”

Matsu beamed at his new boyfriend.  “Of course!  And, er…”  He turned back to the counter, fumbling with what looked like a remote control.  “I made this myself.  For later, I can use this to turn off all of the cameras in my room.”

‘He looks so cute like that, with his mouth agape,’ Matsu thought, affectionately surveying the other man.

“You really are a lot smarter than people give you credit for.”

“Well, you sound pretty shocked,” Matsu pretended to pout for a minute, before giggling.

“Er, what exactly do you have planned for later?”

Matsuda flashed him a devilish smirk.  “You’ll find out… when the cameras are off.”

Ide gulped, but grinned nervously.  “…Right.”

Matsu silkily wrapped his arms around his boyfriend.  “You.  Me.  Movie.  Cuddling.  Now.”

Ide had no desire to deny his orders, and within a few minutes, they were snuggled together on the couch, watching the opening credits to something that featured Jennifer Aniston.  But neither was paying much attention to the movie.  They were much more interested in each other.

Before the film was even halfway through, Matsu decided it was time to use his remote and show Ide the rest of his suprize.
