Description
Full Name: This character actually does not have one name. She has 4. (More information in Background)
Arahaelienarn, Amarthanial, Agarwaenial , Rose MacDonnell of Buckland.
Nickname: Of all of her names, she prefers to be called Rose. Though Legolas will occasionaly call her Arahaelienarn, simply to annoy her or get her to shut up. But under absolutely no circumstances would he call her by her other two names, though other, unfriendly beings would do so without hesitation.
Age: She looks 17, but, having been graced with her father's longevity, she is actually much older, around the same age as Legolas.
Race: Half Elf
Gender: Female
Personality: Rose is a very cheerful, playful, optimistic girl. Her 'parents' taught her to be polite and respectful. They also taught her that she was supposed to 'obey male superiority.' Which, to say the least, did not make the cut. She is very strong willed, defiant even. She will stand her ground to the point of rebelliousness, never backing down and fighting to the end. Being half Elf, she is known to be quite patient, though her human half has noticeably diminished this quality. More patient than a mortal, yet not quite as patient as an Elf. She has a sharp tongue, and is not afraid to use it, and is ferocious in battle, not holding back anything to defend her friends.
Vice(s): Rose can be very annoying at times, and has a bit of a temper. She's a bit impulsive, tending to do things without thinking them through.
Virtue(s): Very loyal, tough, and big-hearted. She tries to find the good in everyone, even the worst people.
Annoying trait(s): Bursting into song at most random (and, usually, inappropriate) times, insisting on skipping for no reason, constantly teasing in an attempt to cheer people up
Endearing trait(s): Making fun of herself, heart warming words of encouragement, a constant smile on her face.
Hair colour: Blonde, just past her shoulders, 'bangs' pulled back on the sides of her head and braided down the back.
Eye colour: Bright blue
Skin color: Peach
Height: 5'7
Weight: 147
Body Type: Lean, strong
Outfit: Since she was treated as a warrior in Mirkwood (See Background) Her attire is similar to that of Legolas', being nearly no difference in spite of the fact that she is a girl. The only difference at all is her shoes. As she can not walk on snow as well as full Elves, she carries with her a pair of thicker shoes for snow travel.
Weapons: Again, being treated as a warrior, Rose has the same basic weapons as Legolas. She has a bow, which is simply engraved with the words 'Birds Flight' in Sindarin (Elvish), and her twin swords.
She also, however, carries three daggers with her, strapped to her belt. (I have drawn the daggers, but I'm on an Ipod, so bear with me please. ^_~"")
One is a normal dagger with a lily shaped handle. It is engraved with the words 'Tiger Lilie' in her 'native' language. Lilie is purposely spelled wrong, as her 'father' always spelt it.
One is serated at one edge, and has three points on the other, with a batlike creature shaped hilt and handle. Engraved 'Blood Stains'.
The third is curved, with a simple handle. Unengraved.
Weapon of choice: Though skilled with all of her weapons, she prefers to use, and is best with, her daggers. Tiger Lilie is normaly used for hunting or a quick defense. The un-named dagger is for medical purposes, mostly. And Blood Stains is for when she aims to kill.
Power(s)[If any]: Rose can walk on snow, thanks to her Elf blood, but, as a result of being only half Elf, it takes practice and concentration. Keen eye-sight and hearing, which seem to be strangely unaffected by the fact that she is half mortal.
Background:
Rose was born with dirty blood.
At least, that's what her kinsmen said. Her mother was a mortal woman, her father a Prince of a hidden, forgotten race of Elves, with strong traditions.
One of which was that Half-Bloods were forbiddon. But they were forbiddon to kill or imprison royalty, lucky for little Rose.
The Prince of Glessilmarn, as Glessimites named their land, had already lost favor when he declared his faith in contrary belief, and his union with a mortal did not increase this.
Rose was called 'Amarthanial' Or, 'Doom Daughter' by the Glessilmites. But her parents had named her 'Arahaelienarn' ; 'Noble and Wise Daughter of Royalty'.
This angered the Glessilmites even more, and one night,
3 months after Rose was born, one of them took matters into their own hands. They killed the Prince and his mortal wife, and kidnapped the child, planning to drown her. But they were pursued. Abandoning Rose in the forest near edge of Glessilmarn, they fled. The Glessilmites never found her, but gave her a new name; 'Agarwaenial', 'Bloodstained Daughter'.
Fortunately, an older Hobbit couple had been on an exploration when they crossed the young Half Elf, hungry and alone. They took her in and raised her as there own in their little town of Buckland near Bree, which was the neighbor of the Shire, until she was physically 14(literally much older). Then, they passed away of old age, leaving the girl they'd named Rose alone.
Knowing she was adopted, Rose then set out to find her own people, branded with 'The mark of the royal family' that she'd had her whole life.
Unbeknownst to her, this mark meant as a good sign had become the brand of treachery.
She found her people at last, hoping for a warm welcome home. But what she found instead was an angry civilization, bent on killing her for her 'treachery'. She was no longer considered royalty, as a new family was now on the throne.
Rose fled, but not before she was met by an older Elf, who told the confused and shaken girl about her past. Thanking the Elf for her help, she found her way to Mirkwood, where she was welcomed by most, despite her heritage. But she was not completely trusted. She was also considered to old to learn the ways of Mirkwood women. So she was put in the care of Legolas, the kings own son, and treated as more of a warrior than a lady. She was made to stay within his sight at all times, and be trained as to be an asset to Mirkwoods defenses. This resulted in her presence at the council at Rivendell that formed the Fellowship of the Ring.
Other: Information on The Silver Elves, Glessilmites, or Elves of Rage.
The Elves of Rage, as they were called before the world had forgotten them, were a very inclosed people. They were the descendents of Glessil, an Elf who had risen to a position of power. He had become greedy, power hungry, and had attempted to reach the highest level of authority. Instead, he was banished, sent away to a far land un-named. Thus began The Silver Elves, or Glessilmites, as they called themselves. After years, most of the world had forgotten that they even existed, or thought they had died out. Many blamed the fall of Glessil on a spiritual problem. But there were some who knew his secret; Glessil was a Half Elf. It was the mortal part of Glessil that had caused his hunger for power. But those who publicly proclaimed this truth were persecuted until a scarce few remained. Rose's Father was one of those few.
When Rose returned to rejoin her kin, she was greeted by another generation of Elves, Elves who had dedicated their lives to finding and killing the 'Bloodstained Princess'

I know this was a while ago, but I still like reading old ocs.
This oc overall was really good! I enjoyed reading it, hopefully as much as you enjoyed writing it.
I've noticed a continuous pattern in ocs- "Has a temper'" or "Gets mad really easily" and I'm not sure why.
Anyways, great work on you oc.

Thank you! ^//w\\^
I think the deal with the 'has a temper' thing is that a lot of people deal with that themselves- so, if they were to create a character that's always calm or doesn't get angry easily, it would be difficult to stay in character. At least, that's the case with me. X3

Huh. I never viewed it that way. Although, if that truly is the case, it makes me sad at the fact of so many original characters are suffering from depression, anxiety, and even worse things. This excludes the Mary Sues with tragic back stories and 100,000 disabilities that don't effect them at any given time. I read Mary Sue characters for inspiration- Basically I do the opposite of what they did.

XD GREEN.
I explain:
Flamers are like trolls. They go around and 'flame', or leave nasty reviews and stuff to try and ridicule others. There seem to especially be a lot in the Lord of The Rings universe. I'm frankly not surprised, because there are SO many Mary-Sues and 'Girl-Falls-Into-Middle Earth' OC's. They're just not logical in the story!
So I've worked really hard to make sure that no one has reason to 'Flame' Rose. :3
Does you undastands now?
And thanks! XD
