Here's something to finish off before my winter vacation wraps up! Wanted to experiment with different colour aesthetics, so I thought I would draw the singer character 'Chubby Cherry' from the electropop band Studio Killers . They are one of the very few electronic musicians that I have enjoyed listening to since the beginning (other than Mystery Skulls ); you can listen to some of their stuff here .
The interesting thing about her design is that her unusual appearance seems to be the amalgamation of features that would normally be considered 'ugly' on a female BUT just seem to 'fit' together to be appealing in a way (perhaps because of her openly confident charm to her). 
After their past hiatus, I was surprised to see Studio Killers take a seemingly new direction, particularly the art style. I wasn't too sure of it at first, but it has admittedly grown on me with the newer submissions. What's cool is that the band recently (successfully!) hosted a KickStarter to kickstart a planned magical girl parody with expansion on their musics and characters!
I look forward to seeing more about this project in the future.
