Background-Akou is one of the trainer's sho's family actually grew up in the Heiphos region and therefore he knows through natural instinct where each type of Pokemon can be naturally found. He was one of the first trainers after the original Elite Four to get all 8 gym badges but he wanted to spend years training before battling to join the Elite Four. He shares a close friendship with Tiffany and actually hides the fact he has feelings for her as the two grew up together and supported each other. He enjoys to battle on his own but prefers battling while teaming with Tiffany as the two are strong as a team and are able to have each others backs without dropping their focus against stronger opponents. Akou considers his Volcarona to be his strongest Pokemon but does not use her to often as he likes to train his other Pokemon. He consider Kashito and Ryutai to be the strongest trainers of the region even though Salisha owns the strongest Pokemon of the entire region. Akou also greatly cares for his younger sister Nuri and trains her in hopes she will become a confident fire type trainer.
