Okay so I'm going to try and stick with the newer parts but I may enter into older stuff just for explanation reasons.

Okay he was born under a different name but his Mother and Father were snobby well off people who lived off his success, his father especially as he was a former Cardist champion so Kuzima was always acknowledges as a Prodigy son. His mother was a mask merchant but never allowed Kuzima to follow an interest as he had no other experience than being a Cardist. One day he made an eye mask for his mothers shop but she threw it in a fireplace as she refused to sell a mask made from un-experienced hands as she believed it would hurt her reputation. During a tournament he heard his father brag about how his son was an extension of his own abilities and this pushed Kuzima towards hatred of both of his parents thus he ran away fro home.

Dakaigon his partner was part of an exhibit behind glass due to himself being a legendary card and had kept trying to tempt Kuzima to steal him and be his Partner. Kuzima tried to fight this temptation for a while but this time he finally stole and set Dakaigon free. As a reward Dakaigon brought back the mask Kuzima made but due to it being burnt to ashes it had been darkened so he took on Dusk as his new second name as he was officially a Dark type user.

He eventually met Serenia and respected her for being a talented Cardist without a Legendary monster as well as the rest of the Masqueradous Six. However this also made Kuzima bitter as he believed his allies deserved the legendary monster cards for their great talents in battle so planned battles for them to try and claim the other 5 Legendary Monsters and was successful in capturing 4 more. But despite his great skills in battle he secretly wants to lose as he was never allowed to fail by his parents and he wants the pressure to finally be lifted off him so he can begin a new journey for himself as well as be happy alongside Serenia.
