Description
I made these for an assignment in 3-dimensional design. I had to find random pieces from everyday trash and recyclables make put them together to make organic shapes and plaster over them.It was my first ever experience with plaster. I can’t really say how much I like this medium because I didn’t really understand how it was supposed to be used until I was covering my pieces with it. This led to many challenges because of the shapes I’d chosen and the pieces I’d used to make them. It got very frustrating at several points. I think that, now that I’ve had some experience, that if I were to do this again, I would be able to plan out my shapes better and would have an easier time working with the plaster, itself.
I was surprised by how much my classmates and my professor liked this when I presented it to them. So, I entered this into the selection for an art show at my College. It was one of the chosen pieces that was chosen. This photo was taken by my dad during the grand opening
