Description
Ok, so there are a few things with this drawing. 1, I took a semi-minimalist approach to her. See, I've noticed that I use TOO many ink lines when I draw this style. I use tons of lines with my pencils, hair to me, is individual strands. So, I tried to keep the lines to a minimal, especially on her face. 2, I used better paper this time, you can see how little the inks bled. And finally, 3, there were some hiccups here and there. Like, look at her belly, the line of red ink near the top, I have no idea how to prevent that from happening. If anyone has an idea, tell me. If there's a technique for it, let me know because it infuriates me. Also, the shading on her legs isn't great. The hair turned out really nice though and so did her dress/curves.Let me know what you guys think.

This was the beginning of my coloring with marker phase. I was no where near as good as I am now. I'm glad you like this one, it turned out well and taught me some valuable lessons.

Very nicely done, she looks great. Very good detail. One question, is she pregnant or overweight/fat?

Oh she is most definitely pregnant. Like 99.8% of all the drawings in my gallery are of pregnant ladies. Why do you ask? Do you prefer one over the other? Just curious. Also, thank you for the praise, I'm glad this drawing is getting a lot of attention.

Rudicius;
Sorry for the confusion on my part. I viewed "Beauty in Red" through a "Group", not realizing it was one of the pregnant groups. Sorry my bad. I do prefer weight gain bellies now more than pregnant bellies, not that I don't appreciate pregnant bellies, but weight gain is more permanent. I have written a few stories with pregnant women, but mostly weight gain.

Oh it's ok, I'm just glad you enjoyed me work even if it wasn't within your preferred genre.

I love the pose, and details like her earring, and flowers on her shoes. Very sexy with the red dress and all.

Thank you. I really went for that "Sexy Lady in the Red Dress" look. Not to mention I had a good reference pic.

I love this so much! You did such a wonderful job of getting this to look natural & honestly, I like the lines you chose. Especially in her dress~ I would say this is one of your best pieces to date~

Aw! Really?! Thank you so much. Do you have any tips for the problems I had shading her left and her dress. Like, my ink there doesn't look smooth. Am I using the wrong technique? I color in straight lines (obviously since you can see my lines), unlike with my colored pencils which I go in circles then go over with odorless mineral spirits which blends and removes those lines. Ugh, it just irritates me.
But no joke, thank you for liking my drawing!! It means a lot to meeeeee!!

Well, I don't know if Prisma makes colorless blenders for their markers, but what I used to (& still should do, but actually like the less blended look right now for some reason) is to first color the entire piece with a colorless blender & then I do color in a circular pattern usually. Do your prisma markers have the double end, or just one? I would test this not on a piece, but you could use the wider end to cover more surface area & do circles that way as well as a base. It typically will be lighter since the tip is broader. Less concentrated since it is applied with more area. Hope that helps at all~
And of course I like it~! You clearly worked hard on it & you seem to be getting better really quickly!

They do have a colorless blender and I do own one. I will have to try this. And my Prismacolors are two sided. So lay a layer of colorless blender down, then go over in circular motions with the desired colors, right? And thank you for liking my drawing, I really appreciate it.

Thank you, I worry so much about this marker colored drawings. Way out of my comfort zone. I mean, I worry myself half to death with my colored pencil ones too. Though then I mainly worry about "where is that rogue flake of color that will inevitably end up ruining the integrity of this drawing by being smudged in a spot it SHOULDN'T be in!!"

Let me give you some glib advice a friend gave me about coloring and line work. If you mess it up, just draw it again. It doesn't matter if you make mistakes. Not every first drawing has to be perfect. It cut through my worries about line art and perfect shading real quick.

Yeah, see, I just get so depressed that I more or less rage quit. Though I haven't done that since like April. I've developed a greater sense of "Even though I messed up, I need to see this drawing to the end."

Hey we've all been there. It's a part of the process. Like Jack Skellington says, "Why does nothing ever turn out like it should?!"

Ok, first, Nightmare Before Christmas is the scariest movie I've ever seen. Just seeing that shit or hearing the music induces fear. Like, my friends played a joke on me once cuz they knew, freaked me out, didn't talk to them for a whole day, which was a big deal. So, eghaghakbkabb.
But that statement is pretty spot on lol.
