Description "Jumba?"

The sound of his name brought Jumba Jookiba out of his concentration. He looked over toward the familiar voice, smiling at his creation. "Ah, 626!" he greeted, "It's quite late, shouldn't you be being asleep?"

Stitch held his hands behind his back, looking down at his feet in what Jumba assumed was minor embarrassment. "Naga fooboo," he finally responded, and Jumba raised a brow.

"Not tired?" Jumba repeated, a bit doubtfully. Stitch didn't exactly look like he was bursting with energy. "Is everything alright?"

"Meega..." Stitch started, but hesitated. "Have... bad dream," he said in careful English.

"Ah, I see," Jumba said, nodding knowingly. "And Little Girl is not here for the snuggling and comforting." Lilo and Nani were off the island to visit family, an event Stitch couldn't attend.

Stitch nodded sadly, shuffling his feet. "Naga Lilo."

Jumba tapped his chin thoughtfully for a moment. "Well, if you are not wanting to sleep, you can keep Jumba company while he is working on evil genius creations," he offered.

Stitch nodded eagerly. "Ih!" he said. Jumba reached a hand down toward him, and Stitch hoped into it, scurrying up his creator's arm onto his shoulder. He crawled behind Jumba's head, peaking out at the computer he was working on curiously.

Jumba patted his experiment's head before turning his four eyes back to the screen. "I am working on theoretical experiment," he said, "It's purpose is to collect many useful things to use in future experiments! Having lab here on Earth is making experimenting easier, but is still difficult to find all necessary things."

"Ooooh," Stitch cooed, grinning at the idea. "More cousins!"

"Yes, yes, more cousins," Jumba said, chuckling.

"Stitch help?" he asked.

"Of course!" Jumba said. "I was not giving you brain like super-computer for nothing." Stitch trilled excitedly, crawling down Jumba's body and leaping onto the alien keyboard. He began punching in calculations, eagerly discussing the experiment with Jumba. It wasn't too long, however, before a wide yawn escaped Stitch's jaw.

A small, knowing smile crossed Jumba's face. "I am thinking you should be going to bed. Cannot be experimenting when you are tired."

Stitch frowned, stomping a foot. "Naga tired!" he insisted, but it was punctuated by another yawn.

"Perhaps I should've been making you a better lier," Jumba commented, unconvinced. His face softened though when Stitch's expression changed to one of nervousness. His ears fell back and he rubbed his arm, looking down.

"Don't wanna sleep," he said.

"I see," Jumba said. It was plain that Stitch was still shaken up from his bad dream, worried he would return to it if he fell back to sleep. "Come here, little one," he said, scooping Stitch up off the computer and shifting to cradle the experiment in his arm. Stitch let out a slightly surprised, confused murmur. "You are not needing to sleep alone. You can still keep Jumba company."

Stitch settled down, though his expression was still somewhat unsure. He closed his eyes, nuzzling his nose into Jumba's lab coat while Jumba continued on the computer with his free hand. It wasn't long before Stitch's breathing slowed and fell into a rhythm, soft snores escaping him.

As time passed, Jumba noticed his own lids growing heavy. But there was much work to be done, so he pushed on. But between the late hour, the gentle hum of his lab equipment, and the even breathing of his little experiment, he quickly succumbed to sleep himself.

When Pleakley awoke that morning, Jumba's bunk was empty-- completely un-slept in. He rolled his eye. It was hardly the first time since he had built a new lab in Kauai that Jumba had spent the entire night tinkering away at all his evil creations. It probably wouldn't be the last, either, regardless of how much it annoyed Pleakley.

He made his way quickly to the scientist's laboratory, intending to-- once again-- read him the riot act. He couldn't just stay up all night doing evil when he was supposed to help with chores in the morning!

However, when he entered the lab, his irritation almost completely melted away. Jumba was fast asleep in his chair, the little monster hugged close to his chest. Pleakley withheld a loud, 'Awwwww!' at the sight, not wanting to wake them, and quickly scurried off the find Lilo's camera. There was no way she would forgive him if he didn't get a picture of this while she was gone.

Jumba is the best Evil Genius Space Dad™ ever, okay?

This picture has some issues, I know. The perspective is a bit off, the lighting could be better, etc. But I'm still happy with it! I wanted to draw this so bad! It wouldn't leave me alone! And I gave it a story! (It's set after Leroy and Stitch, btw. I headcanon that while Jumba wanted to live on Earth with his ohana, he wasn't going to give up all his lab equipment. So he moved all/most of it into a new lab on the Pelekai property.)

Might actually do something with that little experiment Jumba was talking about.
