"M-my back hurts, Twi."

"Why didn't you tell me earlier!?"

"You've been so upset lately, I didn't want you to worry."

"Oh, Spike..."

Twilight is Spike's mom and you can pry that headcanon from my cold, dead hands.

So you know how I said I have a lot of ideas for Spike? Well, this is a bit of a snippet of one of those ideas. Spike starts complaining a bit about back aches, but him and Twi don't think much of it because they aren't that bad. But it's persistent, so Spike tries to ignore it, especially when Twilight starts acting very stressed and upset over something she won't talk about. But the pain gets worse, until Spike breaks down and tells Twilight. She feels extremely guilty that he hid his problems from her so she wouldn't worry, so she tells him that she's been upset because she's pregnant and nervous about raising (another) baby by herself. They promise not to keep stuff like that from each other any more, and Twilight brings Spike to Zecora to try and find out why his back is in so much pain.

This was challenging, but also kind of fun to do. Gave me a chance to draw Twilight, play around with how she might change as she ages. (This is a few years down the road, but before Spike hits any kind of growth spurt.)
