Wanted to try a line-less coloring method now that I've gotten GIMP up and working again. As for the picture, I used line art from one of JINwaBAKA's devs, since it was much more convenient than doing my own and the line work was simple enough for me to mess with. If you're curious about the subject matter, it's basically a Ranma-esque female version of another character.

As for the work itself, what I think:

Overall, happy with it. Gives a really nice cartoon look to the drawing, and it looks pretty snazzy. I'd like to try this again with another drawing sometime using what I've learned from this first attempt.

First of all the eyes are a bit subtle...I suppose that I should have taken a bit more artistic license when working on them because small details like that don't pop without the lines with them.

The shading is a bit jagged, due to the smaller file size. Gausian blur makes things a bit too fuzzy, so I guess just working on a larger file size would fix that.

Shifted the color a bit over to red. Gave the whole picture a warmer feel, and I could even use this for a really nice dusk lighting. I do like this pic...this is definitely a style that I would like to pursue more. First work that I put a mature warning on since the subject matter is a bit different.
