Description The Research Nazi in me saw this, and started SCREAMING. SCREAMING. This was actually in my sister's textbook, and now I see why our youth is getting STUPIDER.

DILOPHOSAURUS DID NOT HAVE A FUCKING NECK FRILL!!! I am appalled, because this is a goddamn textbook, so I figured they would do that amazing little thing called RESEARCH! Where did they get this research from? FROM FUCKING HOLLYWOOD'S JURASSIC PARK AND THAT IS FUCKING HORRIFYING!!!!!!
I can't believe it. I really can't. This just proves that the people who write this shit don't know what the fuck they're talking about. And we all wonder why our youth of today's all getting moronic and fat.

And this is one of many reasons why my faith in my humanity has dwindled over the years....

Well, the paragraph already begins with "Some Dinosaurs of the past looked like lizzards today"...that alone is already wrong on many levels. Basically the whole text, as far as I can see it, pretty much says that Dinosaurs were just giant lizards...WTF!

It's true, you are absolutely 150% correct because in the fossils of dilophosaurus there was no finding of the frill attached to the dilophosaurus also there was no finding of the fossilized poison gland on the jaw so obviously who made up the neck frill thing has made a error on the anatomy of dilophosaurus wetherilli and what's more they made dilophosaurus in jurassic park 5.5-10 ft which is completely wrong we do know that it's supposed to be 20 ft so like i said you are 150% correct! so good job

Thank you very much, I used to study dinosaurs as a kid (didn't we all though!) That whole velociraptor size innaccuracy annoys me too, but aside from that and the dilophosaurous, still a good series, even though I'm sure you and I could find at least twenty other, small innaccuracies from the books/movies XD

I remember having textbooks, back when they briefly tried to teach us about dinosaurs, in 2nd grade, and knowing that the "Brontosaurus" living in the swamps section was completely bullshit.

I thought Dilophosaurs had proto-feathers, like their cousin, Liliensternus Liliensterni .

BTW: that's "frill" is all feathers, more like a mane.

Hmmm, interesting, but I am not sure if scientists have found feather imprints on Dilophosaurus, though it would seem possible. All the pictures I've ever seen showed that they had double crests on their heads, but never any frills.
