sometimes there's a pain in your heart that wont go away and you run and run but it feels like your ribs are a quiver for the arrows.i had this idea when i woke up randomly in the middle of the night and typed it in my notes on my phone. or maybe i dreamed the idea and it woke me up lol idk
also i miss archery

Gosh I love the atmosphere to this, especially in that background! The difference between the way the subject and enviroment is rendered rlly draws the eye in a neat way, and the colors do that too. That lil blurb in the info is oof, and the positioning of them in the body and the way the blood’s spattering really gives that idea of how they’re lodged in there and painful and tearing at the insides when the critter moves. With the blood on the paw and the face, had they tried to pull them out? The action in the pose is really dynamic, and overall this has just a really interesting and contemplatively narrative vibe!!

This caught my eye immediately, love the way you work with the different layers (foreground, background, middleground) to add depth.
I also found it very interesting how the piece told it's story to me - I first realised the colored arrows and was of course like "oh now, the poor puppy has been shot", but then I realised the shadows that mirrored those arrows on the other side and started to think more of it like a character design instead of a uhm... scene (sorry, I didn't find a better word right now, I hope you get what I mean). An of course then I read the description. Thinking of it, it's really neat how the layers of meaning correspond with the "physical"! layers of the piece :3
