I decided it was time I revamped Rusty's design and reference. Her old designs: fav.me/d6ejly7 fav.me/d5tyluiSOME IMPORTANTE THINGS
That red scarf/bandana thing is always on unless someone forcibly took it from her. She doesn't like showing the "rust" on her chest.-Of course you are welcome to draw her without it. Just keep in mind she'd probably be upset.
The "rust" markings don't have to be exact. As long as they're in the general area go crazy. -Except the one on her left ribs. That one should at least look similar.
She likes sandwiches. She doesn't like people stealing her sandwiches. How does I shiba inu? I probably forgot something. Please don't steal her. I'll cry.So now you know what she was hiding under that red bandana. That is all.

Oh yeah her colors can still be however the artist drawing her wants it to be. I like to give people freedom even if it's my own character. :3
And that WD40 thing made me laugh for a while. I doubt the fact that I'm slightly sleep deprived helped at all. xD

I love the reasoning for the scarf, yes good.
I'm curious now, is there a reason for the rust marks and why she hates em' being shown? (of course there is lol duh my brain is being stoopeed while i type but yeah, why?)

And yess there is a reason (pff and your brain wasn't stupid. I could've had no reason for all you know)
There's like a super long reason to it, but basically it's 'cause she's hollow. She's kind of made of metal, but not really. (i haven't really worked it out yet, so in the end she might not even be metal. I dunno 'cause she still has fur and stuff.) And the rust parts are like her weak points where she's more fragile and she's really insecure about that 'cause she doesn't wanna fall apart, so she tries to hide it. Especially on her chest 'cause that's where her "heart" is. But of course that's incorrect anatomy if you look at an actual dog. But it's super complicated and stuff 'cause I created Rusty as a sort of extension of myself.
So yeah. That's like the basic version of it all. xD

Wow, that's really deep, meaningful stuff. the reason behind it is so mysteriously beautiful, and it sort of suggests the character. It's her "weakness" you say? That's some serious designing, fusing character faults/insecurities/strengths with the design, just.. WOW. It's amazing depth put into a design uwu c:
