Well I've totally gone and made a story for Rave Battle (just like I said I wouldn't...) and I can now say that it's not just about fighting and dancing.

Auria city, despite being the Melody Center of the world in which Rave Battle takes place, is also a bit of a crime-hive. Besides the honest dancers, musicians and common folk, there are many viscious, sadistic gangs and organisations with far more sinister motifs. The most notorious of this group is an underground mafia-like organisation called MONO (Million Ochre Notes Organisation). The name is a metaphor for the many allies and mobs they have spread throughout the city, refered to as the "Ochre Notes", and their calling card is a single red note with a smear.

Oblivious to all but the secred service, MONO has been slowly seeking power to control Auria City. Only recently, however, a new leader has taken over MONO, and is pushing them to take a more active role. Slowly, more crimes begin to be commited as the King of Raves competition draws near. The people turn their heads to these crimes, wanting to focus on the happy occasion and try to ignore the strange sounds they hear at night, and the dancers who mysteriously disappear from their beds. Some have reported seeing odd mechanical constructions moving between the buildings in the dark of night, but many of these sightings are dismissed as being the result of drunken hallucinations from intoxicated partygoers.

MONO sets its agents up in "teams", usually a group of three or four. Hakiru is perhaps the youngest member of MONO, being only 17 years of age. Since she is directly related to MONO's deputy leader, Hakiru believes that MONO's intentions are benign, and feels a great responsibility carrying out her orders. The problem is, Hakiru's general lack of experience and the fact that she still has a schoolgirl mentality means that even the simplest of orders can prove to be a challenge for her.

Despite this, she's a capable fighter, being good with guns, but also having an improvised hand-to hand combat style. She's fast, with a lifebeat of 200bpm, and she performs best to sequence music (like soundtrack stuff, anime-style music, really).

Hakiru also has a very self-important nature. She designs her own special "uniform" which she forces upon her two partners. Juno and Reeth have been orderd to protect Hakiru and do what she says, no matter what, and that includes wearing her humiliating red bows'n'bells.

Out of the two of them, Reeth seems to have come out on the worst end. As a black panther, Reeth's intimidating image is pretty much ruined thanks to these little decorations, and he's always paranoid about getting laughed at. However, even with the pretty bows, Reeth is a fearsome sight during combat. He speciallises in hardcore rock, and he is comfortable at beats of 160 up to 200, making him an awesome fighter. He is very much a close-range fighter, though, and has no projectiles or defense against projectiles.

Juno has a fluctuating manner. He is either very collected and cool, or panicky and irritated. It's not easy to annoy or distress him, but when he does, it's even harder to calm him down. Juno often loses his cool at the worst possible moments, throwing the entire group into a state of chain-panic. He is the best dancer of the lot, with a lifebeat of 140bpm. He enjoys harcore trance techno, and speciallises in energy-based combat. Despite his robotic look, his armour is actually 100% organic. This is a fairly common occurance for dancers who have studied techno from a very young age.

Hakiru's team get involved with Sean and the others, and during a blunder, she accidentally exposes MONO's true meaning to Sean himself. After this, she is ordered to assassinate Sean and his friends.

Unfortunately for her, she has the worst luck, and she and her team always seem to find themselves in terrible situations, as seen here.

Anyway, I thought that since Sean is already an unconventional main character (being all flashy looking) why not make unconventional villains who can't really do anything? In a way, they're a bit like Team Rocket from the Pokemon anime, only not quite as repetitious.

They are also linked to the group who held Close captive and tortured him. Close can recognise Reeth as the one who pulled off his tail.
