The Background tutorials you shouldn't miss
Hello again my dear readers! Today I would like to share some tutorials with you! During the 6 years I've been on deviantART, I've gathered many useful tutorials that have deeply helped me along the way. I want to share some of these with you, in hopes that reading them will inspire you to start painting some beatiful sceneries to spice up your works!

Hi dear! You need to understand the concept and apply it to your own tools of the trade. I understand that you can't possibly use stained glass tricks to create water effect xDDD would be fun though, but you certainly can apply the sky & cloud knowledge to your own tools, same with the composition and the trees.

What? No mention of 's tutorials? The guy pretty much specializes in backgrounds, and I would say his tutorials are a must for anyone wanting to understand backgrounds and landscapes! His theory is very solid and in-depth, and will teach you far more than these quick little 'How to do effect x' tutorials (not that I'm saying that such tutorials aren't useful, but they tend not to teach you much theory or give any in-depth understanding of what you are trying to replicate).
I would also recommend 's rainbow tutorials, which gives a physically accurate explanation for the way rainbows work (though I think it gives science-phobics the option to skim through the scientific reasoning), and also for you to follow his journals and polls - they teach you lots about the way the physical world works and looks.
