Description
As a prelude to this year's Junior thesis (Greek Mythology), we had to take the story of Oedipus Rex -- namely, Stravinsky's operetta -- and create two 20x30" posters for it. Due Tuesday. One down, one to go! Excuse me while I go cry softly in a corner somewhere.PSCS4

Enjoy!

Haha, I love this. So many nice nods the the mythic content, and a really nice balance between humorous and tragic.

I think it looks awesome. The style and the set up of who is where with the shadow of the weird baby on a stick. ha.
It's a good job.

Oh dear... I just read the whole trilogy by Sophocles!!! It's so tragic that he ends up marrying his mom, killing his dad defiantly, and blinding himself! I hope that you might make an Antigone poster if you have time... Or include the oracle guy that nobody chooses to believe when everything he says will come true. I really like your style of drawing the characters and maybe you could incorporate more Greek symbols of power and masculinity within your art!

looking awesome! Seeing as this is a poster, I'd brighten up the hook in the top left corner because it is a bit hard to read, especially from a distance...possibly make it larger too?. Nice angles with the characters and love the silhouette addition to show a journey.

Love the picture and the concept. Oh, and you've assembled a great cast, too. So if this is the Stravinsky operettea, how come the music is by Hanz Zimmer?

Your rendition of the Sphinx is absolutely hilarious. She looks a bit like the one creature from Where the Wild Things Are - and the hand sandwich is too much!
I like where you've taken this creatively and what you've done with the characters overall.
Design-wise, I think, as others have said, the title could still be bolstered. I'm not sure if you've already changed it since this is the first time I'm seeing this poster, but creeping it up into the negative space under the old man may help you out and add some extra emphasis to his name. Great work

Y'know, I was looking at the previous placement of the title and wasn't sure about it either. The change is a night and day improvement. Wonderful work.

Great work - however the title definitely needs to be much more prominent.

Awesome rendering! Although to me that area right below Tiresias' (I'm assuming the old man's him) hands looks a bit like dead space? Maybe something could be done to fix that, like move the title slightly to that area (since I also didn't notice the title at once)? Hope this helps ^_^

Great composition(though it's always "great composition" with your art, but anyway) I like how you included most of the crucial parts of his story, and also how you made Jocasta actually look old (most people forget this). Awesome 3D feeling!

the credits part is really amusing.. specifically because it looks like you edited The Dark Knights credits... what with the WB, DC, and Legendary logos... the "and Morgan Freeman" and "Written by David S. Goyer" parts.
Am I right? What do I win?
