What happened in page 394 in what book?
LOL, nice tutorial, though I can't quite follow how it went from all green to coloured.

REAL late, but "Open your textbooks to page three-hundred and ninety-four" is a Harry Potter reference. Professor Snape said it in Prisoner of Azkaban, when he was substituting for Professor Lupin who...wasn't feeling himself. Sorry, I had to say that. I'm a HUGE Potter geek.

Huh, this is very creative. I'd never have thought of using the green color layer. Nicely done.

I made it to step 6 and got a little confused. How do you get that green overlay on there and then put the new color in it in step 7? c:
But, overall, this is very helpful!

About how long do these paintings usually take for you? I kinda agree with a lot of the comments here - steps 7 & 8 looks pretty nice the way they are and would probably look done if the 'extra detail' with the door, hair, and graffiti were in there.

Oh god... Smudge tool X( I love and yet hate it so much. It slows my computer WAY down. Then crashes it. Only my crappy computer though. None of the other ones I've worked on.
It seems to me, you all but completely eliminate your outlines with color and lighting. I love the way it looks. Most artists with your level of knowledge of lighting might have completely discarded them. You're good.

Thank you for posting this. Really interesting insight into how you work.
For the step after the green one, do you paint a flat color over everything and then set it to a different kind of layer (like overlay or multiply)? I'm just a little confused at that step.

I'm kinda stuck on layer 7, what did you use as the layers..uh, blending. This might partially be my judgment being cloudy due to being slightly ill, but I can't seem to figure it out.

Oh man. It's amazing how different our processes are. Crazy. That's awesome that this is typically an art form where people have to develop their every on their own in the dark in their rooms as teenagers, because it gives raise to such a variety of unique techniques. You always start with the tones for instance, I always start with the colors.

my gosh, how long did this take you? You've got some pretty sweet art, and I always appreciate people's work more when I see the process (what I'm saying is this is awesome).
Do you think you've become a lot faster working digitally after lots of practice? I always find it such a chore because it takes so long (I have noo patience when it comes to technology)
