Now wait just a cotton pickin' minute! You goofed up with that moon at the end. You shouldn't see stars there. I really hate it when artists do this.

Simple, yet effective!
I usually have a very hard time with landscapes, so I might try one of those for practice. Thanks for sharing this!

You know, I'd seriously recommend a written part for these tutorials, because it's kinda hard not knowing which brushes to use and how etc. etc.

think of the moon as this: a big circle, with a highlight which does not give off a strong glow.... at least not a glow strong enough to affect the dark side. maybe add a faint, light outline to the "circle" i know this is a quick tutorial, but it always bothers me when people put stars in front of the moon, like; you think stars are actually that small?? even if they were , wed be cooked

Digital-Harpy In reply to Clamantes [2015-02-20 02:30:24 +0000 UTC]
i don't think those stars are in-front of the moon, it more looks like the moon is a pure crescent unlike the actual moon were it is a globe or sphere, so those star's are behind the moon, its just that its drawn as if the actual shape is a crescent
think of a sphere with a giant bite taken out one side of it
on a side note this is a really cool fantasy tutorial of the night sky ^_^
