While home from school in New Jersey, I woke up early to catch the sunrise. Shortly after the sun completely broke the horizon, the sky changed from a deep red color to an amazing orange, and the snow on the beach began to glow. I crouched down and positioned the sun directly behind the roofs of the cabanas at a local beach club. The snow on the left was over three feet deep, and the faint glowing horizon is the Atlantic Ocean. Waking up at 5:30 am was worth it! The cabanas are all boarded up for the winter, and will be opened up again in the summer.Surfrider Beach

Perfect positioning! The lighting on the sand, wood and Cabanas is great
I love the rigid edge of the sand in this shot, and that spec of yellow cloud streaking over the sun.
What a lovely thing to wake up to!
