Description
Since I'm back in school Today, i thought I'd try out a few new things I thought about over my break on the Selene Model I made last quarter...1-Trying out a new eye texture. This new one was inspired by a few close-up shots of Zero Suit Samus.
2-A real hair texture. it looks pretty cool, but I need to fix it in a few places...
3-A new Black Leather texture. I'd been trying to use the surface of my sketchbook as a texture originally, but I couldn't take a good picture of it. it was only later that I figured out that I could always scan the surface of the sketchbook instead... DX Dunno why I didn't think of it before...
4-This...was just me, erm...admiring my handiwork...yeah...
Soon I'll be getting to work on a low-poly, N64-style version of this model for use the the game "Selene: The Prodigal Daughter". (Which is officially moving from 2D sidescroller to 3D adventure now.)

Non-selene related comment alert: Have you ever tried out Blender? It's nice because it's free. Maya's probably better than Blender, but it costs much. If you're interested, check it out on wikipedia. It's on a Dutch site, so I don't know the url.
all the best software in the world is usually Dutch.

Yeah, I tried it out awhile back, but it was really confusing to me and I couldn't figure out how to use it. I would probably be able to figure it out now, but since Maya is what the professionals use I'm trying to go for that instead.

That's cool. I only like it cuz it was made in Python. It's my favorite programming language.

Excellent job man, you're making some great progress. She looks kind of sad or nervous, but that's great because she looks alive. Also, I think it's normal to kind of fall for your characters. While I don't do great art, I know from writing that you become attached sometimes. It's because you put so much into them and spend a lot of time with them. Textures look great and it's pretty awesome to hear you switched to 3D adventure. Good luck!

I think of Selene as a sad character, she's gone though a lot of traumatic experiences that have left her broken and afraid of the world...I'm glad to know that I've captured her personality with her expression.
