Allrighters then! Let's go for it... From now on, let's only talk about it via notes on DA or e-mails. Ok?

You know what I noticed just now?
The thing I like most is the steam/dust coming from under the tanks. A fabulous effect!

Lol, well thank you!
It's actually a simple fog effect using the cylinder gizmos, I'm sure you know how to use them. But thank you!

very nice render, love how the nearest one on the left is a little blurred to show the motion, nice touch. the particals showing from the hover add a nice touch as does the contrails from the fighters, sweet work, the moone in the background is a great touch as well, nicely done.

WOAH It looks awesome!!! Its amazing how well managed lights can put that final awesomeness on a render!! Dude u r good at this hehe... and now I realize how much I still have to learn, but its exciting seeing the stuff I'll be able to do (i hope) like this piece. Freakin great. It really feels like a sunrise, the depth of field looks reaaally good, the dust from the ships, the ships itselves and the lights, all fits very well.
Keep up man! U know, its so cool that you take the time to make scenes and even landscapes for your models, most 3D modelers don't do that. And I luv scenes, thats how you really "tell the story" hehe

THANK YOU!!!!
Im really happy you liked it, thanx a lot for the encouragement, now I wish to do a scene for the SHV too...
Thanks a lot dude, and no worries, you don't have much to learn, personally, I think we are both kind of in the same level as far as 3D goes... What made this render so special actually was all of your support and the support from the rest of my friends here in DA. Without all that feedback, this wouldn't be the way it is now.
Thanx for everything man!

Hey, great shot, you can tell you put tons of work into this pic.
About the smoke trails, one thingy dusty didnt see/didnt mention is to me atleast they seem kind of.. wide for how they start out. Smoke trails always start very concentraited and then taper out as the wind distorts them and they diffuse with the rest of the air.
Also i do not know what you were trying to go for with the ground but the right side looks very dirty/dusty but with so much reflection the left side kind of looks like water.
The lights on the front of the vehicles look really cool though, good job with those.. interesting color choice on them.
Great job though (sorry, it feels like i tore apart ur picture, lol)

Lol, no worries!
I like taking the critizism so for the future I can do better and better works and so on. But for now (unless, one day I am bored and have nothing better to do) I dont think I want to go back into this render because of its render time.
But thanx a lot for your support, I really appreciate it and it will not go to waste!!!

That's a very good point about the trails, I forgot about that and it's often presented with aircraft that can be seen overhead.

Glad you finally got the final product rendered. Maybe I'm hallucinating, but did you render the AHT's higher in this then previous shots? It almost seems above "eye level".
The lens flare is a bit intense. Suppose it'd be alright if you would reduce the intensity and size a little, but it seems to want to compete for the viewer's attention as opposed to the main subjects of the image. The ground is nicely rendered - like the attention to detail, seems like the ice has inside textures to it, those little white 'dots'. They look like air bubbles that got trapped in the freeze process. The AHT reflections are also a good addition as they make it feel like the vehicles are interacting with their surroundings.
Been trying to think of how you could improve the exhaust trails of your fighters and I have some conclusions: winds that would blow or distort the plumes, and the need to make it look like the fighters are coming forward, if just a little bit. If one fighter is above the other, it would perhaps shadow at least one of the exhaust trails.
As for the background, it still has a few issues. Not major ones, but they could be touched up. With ice, that means that there is water vapor, and with that, it produces clouds. The chances you'd see a planet that 'clearly' are very nil, unless it was as close as Earth's moon. Also, maybe have a couple of bright stars (or planets like Jupiter or Venus) sparkling in the sky?
As for the AHT's themselves, they are looking good. Finding the perfect way to add blur is not easy, and it seems still, a bit forced, and un-natural how you have it incorporated. Not sure just yet, how you could improve or fix that. For the area between the front lights/gun turrets of the closest AHT, in the future, perhaps you can add grime or some sort of extra texture to give it a βfullerβ look. It seems like you textured all surfaces but that one.
Thanks for showing me a copy of this in advance, only wish that the critiques I had made would have made it to your inbox.

Man, don't I love your comments !!!
Well, thanx a lot for the suggestions, and I'm also very sorry that your suggestions and critiques didn't make it and I couldn't finish fixing up the scene.
Well... I really appreciate all of your suggestions, honestly, but with a render time of 14 hours, I don't think I want to refix this particular scene!!!
For what it's worth (future lessons) I really thank you for your deep and encouraging critiques!

FUBAR - fokked up beyond all recodnition
and my other favorite just in case I use it in the future - SNAFU - situation normal all fokked up
I think the admin are doing edits to the message centre; do you also notice some of the formating for personal info has changed slightly? Takes up less room now. At least I think they changed it - it's more compact. I swear I'm not daydreaming.
