More WALL-E fanart.

I love their original forms more than any alternate incarnation the fans (including myself) can come up with... but gosh darn it, it's just easier to draw creatures of flesh than creatures of steel (for me).

And because everyone and their grandma is doing it, I thought, "Okay... so what would WALL-E look like as a human?"

I've seen a lot of great interpretations. I wish I had half the talent some of these artists have. But what gets me is that WALL-E is dressed like a kid, or a teenager - in casual clothing. Nothing wrong with that, of course... but WALL-E does have a job - an important job. And since WALL-E is essentially a garbage-bot, I figured... why not dress WALL-E as garbageman?

I kept some design features, particularly the goggles (hey, when you're crushing garbage, the last thing you need is shrapnal in your eyes... and yeah, it's just plain awesome). I thought gloves and boots would be appropriate. The coveralls are the key thing - protection from the elements and whatnot. A gasmask would have been appropriate too, but then we wouldn't get to see his adorable face. You can't see it very well, but he does have regular clothes underneath the coveralls (you might be able to see a shirt collar just above the zipper-pull).

Oh yeah, and I drew Hal the cockroach as a rat. I figured, why not?

And I threw a half-arsed backround in just for kicks. I like the poster peeling off the wall nest to our hero, though.

I think it looks great, compared to my other attempts at humans.
