I wanted to try and draw the marvel characters the other day, but I can't do anything wholly unoriginal, so I changed the costumes into what I would make them. All the patterned lycra gets to ya sometimes...
Not saying my design is better, I just like playing around.

Spider man has always been something of a 'fringe' super hero. Half the public don't trust him, he's trying to do the right thing in a world that seems to hate him. His loved ones are the ones who get hurt, no matter what he does. I tried to get this idea into the costume, along with the idea of his speed and agility. For this reason, I kept some of the lycra stuff in there, ease of movement type thing. I also left his fingers and soles of his feet open. I was thinking "How does he stick to walls if there's cloth between his skin and the wall?" Now, I assume the sticky hair things must come through the fabric, but I've seen things in the movie, and even some comics where he climbed walls with shoes on. Call me a hardcore nerd if you will, but come on! Anyway, this is my idea of spider man.
