Description The rain pelted people hard that day. It kept stabbing Thomas' skin, forcing him under the trembling trees for cover. He didn't want this. No one ever wanted this.

But their deaths happened; all of them happened because of him.
His hands shook so violently when the winds came over, grabbing clumps of his honey-tinted hair, forcing him into the various and random directions of the wind. He watched all the people he ever cared about swirl away in the storm. His parents, his sister, his girlfriend, his gamer buddiesβ€”all of them destined to drown.

Thomas knew he should have told them. He should have told them that he knew that the hurricane was coming straight for the house, that they needed to leave, that they needed to hold on. Not to drown. Not to cry sweet tears of pity for everyone else, because one day they would all end up the same as the ghosts and fears that haunted them. If only he had the backbone for all of that.

It was too late now.

He knew death only came to the righteous, the worthy, and the just.
He knew he wouldn't be joining them.

For once in his life, Thomas prayed that they weren't as perfect as he knew they were.
As awful as it sounded, he didn't want to be alone.

This is quite good! I like how it doesn't have a lot of words. It shows how easily you can create a mood or setting or character. Nice job!

Aw, thank you so much! It means a lot to me, because writing a short story is often harder than writing a long one for those reasons!

It's very well done and expressive for something so short!
