Three months had passed since the day of the crash. She didn't remember much from that horrible day. All she could recall was the captain's voice over the loud speaker warning of turbulence and the next moment, nothing but darkness. When she awoke the plane had crash landed in the middle of some unknown jungle. At first the survivors clung together; staying close to the ruined airplane. Every single one of them, hoping against hope, that someone would come to the rescue. But, it soon became apparent that no one was coming. Inevitably the survivors broke into their own little groups. They argued about how best to survive and conserve their rapidly depleting supplies. Eventually the tensions became unbearable and small, tight nit, groups split off into the jungle to survive on their own. Megan had gone off with two other girls. They had seemed nice enough and they got along well. They looked out for each other and became good friends. That was until one night, while Megan was fast asleep, her companions vanished. The next morning when she discovered their absence she went to search for them, but all she could find were the tattered remains of their clothing.

She had lost her own clothes three weeks later and since then had to get by in just her undergarments. I don't really mind, wearing less keeps me cooler and it is easier to move around. Megan had adapted well to the rigors of the jungle. She had collected large supply of fruits and vegetables back at her makeshift shift and even managed to take down large game every once in a while. For the first time since the crash Megan didn't mind being alone. She even enjoyed it. But ever since her companions disappearance she couldn't shake a nervous feeling. A thought that was clawing at the back of her mind. It felt like the jungle was out to get her. She felt that no matter how hard she tried to survive, she was doomed anyway.

During one of her regular foraging runs she came across some strange berries. She took one in her hand, and marveled at is size. They must be about the size of a small peach back home She turned the fruit over in her hand. The berry was dark blue with a lighter band running across its length. Weird... She thought. I haven't seen anything like this before. She looked around for the tell tale signs to determine if the berries were safe to eat. The ground was bare of any dead animals and there were birds nesting high in the bush, eating some of the strange fruit. Well, the birds in this jungle haven't failed me so far. These must not be poisonous.

Megan took a bite out of the fruit and gasped in awe. This has to be the greatest thing I have ever eaten. It's so sweet. So full of juice...SO tender! I'll never eat anything else ever again! Hours past and only when she had completely gorged herself on the marvelous fruit did she even consider stopping. The sun had dropped low in the sky. The shadows of the forest had deepened. Crap! I need to get back to the cave before the nocturnal predators come out. She took one lustful, lingering, glance back at the bush. Just leave it. The berries will still be here tomorrow. You can come back then and gather some more to take back

As she turned to leave, a gurgling sensation emanated from her stomach. She paused to collect herself. Don't worry... your tummy is just a little upset. You haven't eaten this well in days. It is probably just not used to such a rich treat. Walk it off. The next step she took proved her wrong. She felt bloated now, but quickly that sensation passed too. Instead it felt like her entire body was growing heavier, fuller, as she stood there alone on the forest floor. In a quick burst Megan yelped as her bust line surged forward.
