Description
The natural sentient civilizational races of Dreamland.Rabbards
Rabbards are the normal humans of the land. The normal height of an adult male is 5 foot 5 '', which makes them on a slightly smaller scale of normal humans. They are 30% of the population.
Rabbards have at least one rabbit feature, hence the translucency examples on the picture. Features could be rabbit ears, hairy rabbit hands, rabbit feet, fur, fur manes, no normal human head of hair, tail, rabbit like legs, the hare-lip, rabbit nose, rabbit head, etc. It is extremely unclear how perfectly smaller humanoids could have rabbit features. But, it is quite true.
The rabbit features are a symbol of timidity and weakness of the base human form, and of their peacefulness and passive acceptance of the terrible world around them.
Burd People
Burds are 20% of the population. they range from 6'7'' to 7'10'' usually and live in the cities, though their nation is at the top of the great forest. They are an elite noble society, usually not concerning themselves with society. Their arms are also their wings. Their are only some Burds that have pupils, but usually their eyes are completely blank-looking or their pupils are very faint. Their colors are very pale, almost white pastel versions of the rainbow available.
Their society revolves around ritual, knowledge, concerning matters of their own kind and homophobia. However there is a decent number engaged among the city with daily business, life, jobs, houses etc. This is why though the Rabbards are smaller than them room and door height is considerably tall.
Druindics
Druindics are a small, 10% of society that come form the deeper levels of the great swamp. They are focoused scientists and ritualistic people, with laid back shoulders and thick red skin.
Druindics in their culture wear particular black robes and geometric headgear, each hat style and color unique to the wearer. They never, EVER take it off except when sleeping. The material and the internal components, along with the channeled shape of their headdress fans, keeps cool, protective, and filled with a bit of natural-magic to keep their faces always shrouded in blackness. Druindics do not like to talk about the secrets of their hat's purposes. It is clear however that they certainly do not wear them to 'humble' or oppress themselves before some deity. Only the Druindics know the guarded purpose of why their race wear their headgear. A theory is that their faces are the same or featureless and, since shame is ruled out as a factor, they would not be able to tell each other apart. This however is yet to be proven. A more scientific theory is that they believe their low-magic intricate headgear enhances their intake of knowledge and learning, something to channel religious or intelligence purposes, or perhaps to channel energies of focus.
Only those mated with one as husband and wife, or their parents, know of their true faces. IT is lucky enough that one is posed here almost completely naked to show their body structure.
Another interesting fact is they wear tall platform shows to make them appear bigger under their robes. Unlike the headgear, the shoes are linked to feelings of shame for their short stocky build.
Druindics are not often in the common cities because if they are, they were probably ousted form their home villages for wishing to be part of the non-Druindic culture. However Druindics seek to be professors, astrominors, teachers and scientists at the three main universities, which one was even founded by a Druindic. Besides a scholarly profession, it is either that or the Druindic is happy at home at the village. A 3rd option of contributing to society is not welcome to them.
There is one Druindic, Syme G. Daygar *his Druindic name Digric* who has successfully made it as the second guitarist of the popular band ELPANOG.
Dandy Lion
The Dandy Lion is a feline plant/mammal species that is 10% of the population. They are around 6 feet tall or so, with a petal mane, curl-etched features on their face, puffy paws, two stamens/pollinator antenna. They posses the male and female plant parts, however their physical bodies are sleek male anatomy. As such they can 'naturally' copulate, though infertile, while properly breeding through the pollination of their flower-heads. This is done through insects or constantly rubbing the sensitive stamens together. In the fall their petals turn into large dandelion-like seeds, which blow off into the wind to the sky. Unless they save some seeds to germinate and grow their own children, the seeds float away to another dimension in the sky. It is unknown where they go, but every Dandy Lion knows their race originally came from the other dimension.
The seeds are harvested in sky nets by the Burds, who revere them as a tasty delicacy, an expensive commodity and for ritual purposes.
Dandy Lions are mostly asexual-bisexual, especially considering the female and male hormones through their system, gearing them towards anyone they can use to marry, gain pleasure and to pollinate besides their own hands rubbing the stamens together on their heads. As such many Dandy Lions happily exist asexual letting nature take its course for pollination, not caring about how generally useless their mammal genitalia are for breeding.
Finally:
Orgarcs
Orgarcs live to the west in the darker woods and caverns. They are stocky, green-gray orcish creatures, with piggish flat faces. They are a small race that serve the Night Man, the deity of true evil. Orgarcs are never seen in the cities as they stick to themselves, associated with the Night Man. the Night Man does not harm or actually have enslaved them in any bad way or power, which causes the naturally brutish personality they have to serve and work with him. They are a hunter-gatherer society, mining their own armor and weapons. They are only seen in the main area of society rarely, since the Night Man does not often have reason to wage war or attack anybody with the Orgarc army.
