Question: Why do so many artists start off in gray?? Also, I don't know how to access the full tutorial. Is it on YouTube?

It's for checking the values, make sure the contrast is strong enough. It helps when trying to get a good balance of light and dark. Color is a distraction, so having it greyscale makes it simpler and easier to see. I have a little tutorial on it if it helps
