I am really bad with watercolor painting, so I'm always very respectful towards the people who success in it.

And I really find this one successful. Nice work

Aw, thank you! It definitely takes a lot of practice, as with everything, haha I find space pieces to be pretty simple though. I describe the process here: comments.deviantart.com/1/7598… It's mostly just patience in letting the layers dry.

Generally when I practiced, and under the tutelage of a teacher (otherwise, I use other paintings, when I used painting, cause now, all my stuff is in boxes on the other side of the world), the work was to do it all under 20-30 minutes. So you had to keep the white of the paper as much as possible. That's why the advice you nicely indicates in your other post couldn't be followed at this time.

And this... the "not touching the white parts", I disliked it all the time

And yes, of course, I know that this practice requires time, patience and slow (quick if you're damn good) progresses, but I never enjoyed it. Not that I don't enjoy to see the result of the others !

This style is probably too soft for me, so I prefer gouache or oil painting, that I find much funnier. But that's why you have my deep respects !

Oh yeah, having to save your whites can be tough. Definitely takes some getting used to. But hey, if it's not for you, then it's not for you. I'm glad you've found happiness and enjoyment in oils and gouache

Yep, it's a waste of time and efforts to practice somthing you really dislike.

No good results will come of this.

Not saying that hard work is not paying of, but with so many various practices (with only speaking about art), to find the one(s) who suit(s) you is more necessary than to stay sticked to the one not for you.

And even if it's more difficult to master, I find oil really amazing.

Ah, the wild nature of the galaxy (or other galaxies) is sometimes so peaceful to look at. This is a good example of that (to me, at least). Nice work!

Thanks so much You can definitely do it! All I do is lay down lots of colors. It helps to really layer things down, so paint, let dry, paint, let dry, etc. Then add black on top, maybe some more color to help blend. Then the stars are added with a toothbrush and flicking it on

Klugdunum In reply to sambeawesome [2018-11-30 10:33:47 +0000 UTC]

The toothbrush is a classic and very effective tool for the small points, this I knew, and works with everything, even oil painting.

But OK for the drying and the coming back.
