I didnt, but apparently its a Clivia. They are apparently quite common house plants, and they are rather nice. If you want you can read more on wikipedia, [link]
This is actually really close up of an individual flower, which grow in groups of 12-16, and the plant has 2-3 groups. I'll put a less close photo into my scrapbook, if you're interested check [link] . You can see a new group of flowers just beginning in the background.
Out of interest, its taken from the exact same spot, but on minimum zoom of my big lens (70mm), the one here is taken on max (300mm).
