That's partially correct. The Black Edition Robes are infact Master Assassin Robes. However so is the Armour of Altair. Altair made this after he became Master Assassin. It's also why the robes are black. Only Master Assassins wear black. So this can also be reffered to as a Master Assassin outfit.

Actually that's not entirely correct. You probably played AC Revelations too and the robes Altaïr wore were always white. This armor was like the grand prize in ACII, however there's question if Altaïr made the armor, however not the robes that go with it, after all it's called 'Altaïr's armor'.

I've been told there are 2 different versions.
When I was asked to do this at first, I saw the armour you're refereing to on google and asked the client what he wanted.
The one Iv'e painted here is apparently the one you get at the very nd of the game, the ultimate suit kind of thing. For reference I was given concept art and a screenshot from the game.
The guy was very happy with it though so I was happy too.
Anyway, this is all just what i've been told, I'm only half way through the game so don't really know, and you seem to know what your talking about so i'll take your word for it!

Well sorry if I spoiled things for you, but yeah that is Altaïr's armour which you can't buy. You have to go through a lot more difficulty (to put it vague) to obtain it. Basically it can't be damaged, though that doesn't mean you're immortal. The Master Assassin gear can be seen as a figure you obtained with the black edition: [link]

Yeah my mates at uni showed me that too. But like I said I sent that to the client and he said he wanted the one I painted. I guess I just assumed this was the Master Assassin suit because it looks more bad ass! XD
