Description
As some of you may know, I DM a few games of D&D!In this particular game (one held at work), the party were in conflict with Mozark Blackpaw, a powerful fearsome gnoll captain who’s been ravaging the nearby towns for bones for an unknown nefarious purpose. Mozark and his pack had been branded with an arcane mark that seemed to make them smarter and more organised, hinting at a more powerful third party at play.
The party had been on the hunt for Mozark, having tracked him down to a hidden part of a local forest. A secret glade where in the center was an old husk of a gnarled dead tree, with a large pile of bones in front of it. Surrounding the tree was the runes for a teleportation circle. The party found Mozark here and began their fight.
During this battle, the tiefling cleric channelled the divine wrath of his goddess into a powerful thunderwave that killed two gnolls and disrupted the bone ritual Mozark had planned. His luck ran out when on the next turn, he was shot into unconsciousness by a surviving gnoll. Recognising that the cleric was still a threat, Mozark Blackpaw fired a few more arrows into the cleric before retreating from battle. The cleric failed their last remaining death save before his party could reach him, and died on the spot. His goddess was not happy at her clerics death, so soon after using her wrath to turn the tide of battle and sent thunderstorms raging across the lands.
These thunderstorms would later prove fatal for another party member the next session, but that is a story for another time
