Ren is the chief Robotics engineer for the Wlett Underground. He usually gets into a lot of trouble with the Regeant for making androids that are a bit too perfect.

His students try their best to add "extra" pieces to their androids, which usually ends disastrously. Ren, being the master of "extras," is then forced to fix the mess. It's a bit of a running joke among the Wlett engineers: Ren's meatbots.
