The 7 sins are a Christian idea of certain behaviors taken too far can cause problems. For example, eating is a basic of life. BUT when it turns into a non- stop consumption, we have problems. We have eating disorders and body image problems. We have factory farming and genetically altered food. We have conflicting information from varying sources of what to eat, what not to eat and a Zillion dollar diet industry. We're destroying the rain forest to make hamburgers while everything else is made from corn; because things have gotten out of control.
It was the ancient Greeks that stated "everything in moderation."
