Story:
Day 3 was proving to be a little troublesome. the thick forest making it hard for Rez to move and most of all turn. Rayne had to plan this carefully not to get them trapped. They had come to a point where the rain seemed to let up a bit. Enough that Rayne removed her hat, never really wanting to ware it. Something felt odd in the forest. They had been told that there was a greater chance that they would see wildlife on this portion of the race but there wasn't even a bird around. Rez wasn't comfortable with this at all as he snorted. He sniffed around nervously but with the rain and everything having that fresh watery scent to it it was hard to distinguish things. The slush under his hooves making it hard to hear.

Ahead where some smaller trailers that intercepted there chosen path. Rayne debated if any of them might be easier to take but with there smaller size it would be more trouble some. There was another that did take use of the trails.

Out of nowhere it seemed a bears eyes locked with theirs. 'Oh s-shit' Rayne thought to her self in a panic. Rez had never seen a bear so close and wasn't quite sure what to make of it. The bear had just come out of hibernation. You could almost hear his stomach growl with the anticipation of possible pray. The bear growled as it slowly approved them. Its hunger blinding it, the shear size of Rez should have been enough for him to move on, but he was to hungry to care.

"SHIT!" Rayne yelled as she thought of what to do. The trees where to dense for Rez to move. There only option was forward toward the bear. 'Right i have a flare gun!' she thought to her self as her hand reached for the gun. 'wait... if i..there is no way we are being disqualified now!' she yelled in her head as she snapped off a branch. "There is no way we are going to quit now! We with FIGHT!" she yelled. The bear let out a blood curdling roar as he stood on his hind legs. His eyes blinded by hunger. Rez could feel the change in Rayne, He wasn't afraid. The roar of the bear seeming so threatening it just made Rez angry. NOTHING would hurt Rayne.

Rayne yelled as Rez reared up , letting out his own scream as he threw himself toward the bear. His large hooves and massive size hitting the ground like a bomb. The ground shook under the bears feet. it looked down as if confused, seeming to be snapped out of his hunger blindness. Rez reared again, coming down hard closer to the bear. It finally knew. Looking up at the black beast towering over him. The bear bolted back down the small path. Rez bolted down there indented path. Wanting to gain distance from the threat as fast as he could. He roared like thunder as he galloped.

Rayne was still in shock did they really just fight off a bear?! Once far enough away Rayne slowed Rez down, not wanting him to push to hard. "Good boy. holy shit you are the best ever!" she yelled happily as she leaned down and hugged his neck.
