the lovely shadow mare

Days continued as they where, never changing. Soldiers trying to "desensitize" the mare to loud noises. Debating if the mare was even worth there time anymore. She had so many problems, unlikely to run into the fry with that breathing problem of hers.

A soldier walked her back to her holding stall. Having decided enough for today. Another was polishing up a sword. Just her luck as her eyes caught the shine from it. Istel reared and screeched. "Honestly! Cut it out!" the solder yelled as he tried pulling her past the sword smith.

The clock was definitely ticking. Istel time here winding down to the last grains of sand. but what would her fait be, Death? Or freedom maybe? Only time would tell.
