like the black and white effect on your art!! realy giving it a dark mood of both the character and the background..

I love your use of balance, shading, contrast, texture, shape and, design
and, how you married it all into this singular sceenic view
which even the charcter became a part of

well they start from 01 which is the largest to .005 which is the tiny little tip which i use for the fine shading and lines, they are around 2 dollars a piece. I have about 40 pens lol

the b/w horizontal division of the piece works very well, it would be even cooler if it would indicate the shape of the wave in the yin/yang symbol by using the shape of the environment. but like this its very cool too, i think this is one of my personal favourites of your work. also how you accentuated the lower edges of some clouds is very cool. a little critique would be the pose of the character, his feet should be a little more apart to give the pose a little more strength and stability, as a warrior should seem.
all in all its pretty darn cool, and the fact that its your first samurai drawing amazes me even more
greets,
Tom

I dig the intense dark shading of the mountains. The character himself is killer! Love the hat.

I like the contrast...shades are black and the highlights are white. Samurais kick ass in melee
