Description
The pin I made in sculpture class for =HossinfeffaHowever, I took this picture before I cut off the sprue and polished it, so right now it's at school all shiny and complete, just waiting for the glue on the pin back to dry, then I can mail it to Hoss. n_n So it's a neat little (well...it's kinda big xD) pin.
SO YES. I'll get a picture of the shiny one once I get the pin home.
AND AS YOU CAN SEE, I messed up on the fur, cause it's laying in the plaster I casted with. xP

Casting by me with the help of my sculpture teacher xP
OH AND SORRY FOR THE CRAPPY PHOTO. My apartment is not a happy, bright place. :C

Holy shiznits.
This is way freakin' awesome!
Did you carve into the plaster, and then use the plaster as a mold ?
I wish there was a scultpure class at my school, but the only thing close to that is ceramics.
I am faving this!

That's basically what it is ToT It made things so difficult. I even talked to a caster I ran into at a fleamarket and he said the way we're doing it is difficult and stupid, and we should have made molds. XD Or just made a sketch and given it to him and paid him to cast.
But yeah, we had sculpting tools, and worked backwards...so I removed things little by little out of paranoia. x.x;;;
But thank you! <3

haha! no problem.
The only thing I did a little simmilar to this was that we had little paper like mold things, about half an inch thick, and dug out details and made it into a samp :3
But this is so amazing xD your so talented at so many things. :3 I cant wait to see the polished version!

Nice job Sam.
I've never tried cutting into plaster, but I remember freshman year I had to do one of those... lino prints? It was a bit flat rubbery thing and of course I picked some obscure picture of caribou to carve into it. Which was /fun/ I can assure you, haha.
I don't even want to imagine the sort of work that kind of detail would require from a plaster cut. xD Very nice indeed. I'm sure Hossinfeffa will love it.

That's really neat, Sam O:
I bet that took alot of concetration? c:
How long did it take you?

Samwich In reply to ayame-souka [2007-11-15 04:59:01 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, but sadly, I sit at a table full of very distracting freshmen/sophomores who like to interrogate me on personal matters, and wonder why I worked so hard on something. So my concentration faltered. xP But it took abouuuttt....3-4 classes? Each class is 90 minutes, so that's basically how long it took...yes. But I think I stayed in an extra hour as well.
And thanks ^^ <3
