This is handy, but is there a way to apply this to the front legs? Every time I move the collar bone, it gets wonky...

I don't know if i am the only one. But does anyone else get this whe you try and move the bottom foot at the back? I really do need help with this. i.imgur.com/Y3gIpn7.jpg Even thou the rig is attached it stretches at the bottom of the feet. It would be very kind of you if you could help out this situation.

Move the "foot" not the "toe". Even though most people would assume the bottom hoof is the foot, these rigs technically use the ponies hock as the foot. *The hock for a pony is the knee on a human.*

Oh, I've seen some people making it soo the foot seems to be moving with the rig. But thank you for the reply

How do you use the rigs in the first place?
I have followed through some of the sfm tutorials and i understand what ik rigs are ect but not sure how your meant to use them? I right click on my pony model select load rig and choose pony_Ik_rig.py and then nothing happens. I tried also selecting the rootbiped simple thing but that does nothing either. I assume that loading the rig should be doing something but when i click open or ok once i have chosen the rig the box closes and no changes to anything happen when i try and move the model it still transformms/distorts. Also the model and the rigs i am using are from the Pony Overhaul.
Any ideas on what i am doing wrong?

Ok strange but apparently if you have some of the models groups open the rig won't load even if your selecting the entire thing. Guess that makes sense?

is there any chance that the rig scrip this is meant to modify is still available?

I'm currently making a complete rig atm. But I'm pretty sure you can get the old rigs from the same page as where the VN models come from, somewhere in the description I think.

Oh, cool.

quick question about the new rig, will it be compatible with both genders?

That is a good question actually, for the only answer I have is ... I will check on that though.

I think it should if they have the same bones. I think that was the problem last time.

I don't suppose this rig is usable for male ponies, is it?

JayriAvieock [2013-04-28 20:21:55 +0000 UTC]

now we just need to have a rig updated to include wings, tail, face and muzzle.

Thanks for the fix. I noticed that the IK rigs would do that odd stretching, though with this I can be able to pose those legs more often for proper animation.

Wonderful!

now I just need to see what ponies it works with (ex V1, V3, Nahka set) as what I'm using for a video is a mixture of different sets, and a griffin.

Sarcastic-Brony In reply to Glaber [2013-03-05 18:19:30 +0000 UTC]

The rigs will only support nahka set. They are running under different bones then the v1-3. Though with a little time and effort you can create a V3 script. I have done it but am too lazy to release it.

Glaber In reply to Sarcastic-Brony [2013-03-05 18:26:14 +0000 UTC]

is it a complete v3 script? If so, It would greatly help me out.
