Description
Example of what the PutSomeClothesOn series of commissions will look like. Character will be vague, grayscale, and will lack distinguishing details. Clothing will be full flat color with sketched lines and implied details. I'll write up the commission specifics tomorrow in a journal. I'm to sleepy right now.More on this species here

Clothing is one of the hardest thing to design I have found.
But I know you've done a bunch before as well, and practice helps a whole lot in this cases!
All of the clothing I've seen you do for the Zenn seem super useful and comfy, it's really awesome

THanks! I'm really looking forward to getting more official art of the Zenn done, clothing and all. Haha. I love designing stuff in general and the only thing that kept me from doing more clothing when I was younger was that folds were goddamn hard. Then it was shoes. But yeah, practice will get you through those humps so you can do the fun part instead of slogging through the technical part.
Glad its reading that way! They've got an eye for fashion but their biggest emphasis for anything is utility first.

Honestly me too. I wish I was in a place where I could put money aside to support other artists but I just can't right now. I want to do random gift/fanart when I can though. Theres some people out there that have been following me a longass time and they have just some of the coolest work that never gets any love.

I totally understand about budget stuff. Things are getting better but I'm not quite at the commissioner level haha. Man I miss doing more gift art too! I used to go to random followers of mine and doodle their characters. It was one of my favorite things to do. Once I have a better art schedule I hope to be a little more free to do things like that.

Lol yeah that happens with stuff I haven't worked out an idea fully for. Takes much less time when I know what I'm going for before I start. This one had a lot of new design ideas within it that had to be worked out individually like the wrist-mounted computer, the magnetic quick release buckles (which frustratingly just still look like quick release buckles and need to go through a few more design passes), and the pouch closures. Now that those are figured out I can more quickly iterate off that in the next designs. If I don't have to figure anything out for a drawing something like this can take me an hour or two. Or it can take me a lot longer if I'm being excruciatingly slow in making decisions/fighting cat distractions/talking to people. xD The cool thing about having spent so much time on this one though is that I have the file set-up to let me get multiple things out of it. This clothing example wasn't even the original or primary intent for the drawing. The character underneath that is actually part of a Zenn age/development lineup, this particular character will end up as an individual character with their own reference sheet, and is a character I'll have available to use in the iych zenn expedition commissions.
