Description Just a drawing to try something 'new' in terms of lighting and composition. I really like trees because they make one of my favourite sounds in the world; wind rustling through leaves.
I kid you not; the mere sound of this makes me stop in the middle of sentences or doing whatever I'm doing just so I can hear it.

I'm a godless hippy.

Wow, I use so much yellow in my work. God damn.

I like the squiggles you used in this picture lmao xD It makes it seem more childish which is good for a picture with a little kid in it.

Haha, thanks! I think I was going for some sort of magic tree crap at first but after a while I just started doing squiggles for the hell of it.

while this was loading ever so slowly on my crappy dial-up connection, I thought it was the night sky between branches but then I saw the little fellow at the bottom so now it's got this whole two pictures in one kinda feel for me. Which is very cool.

Well, Kandinsky had a thing for blue, you're allowed have a thing for yellow.

I have a bit of a thing for blue aswell, to be honest; I can't paint in Acyrlic without tonnes of blue for some reason.

What colour do you find yourself having a thing for?

A few weeks ago I wouldn't have been able to answer this, but since I've been obsessing over this damn project I seem to have developed an obsession with deep red and green together. Sometimes just deep red, but generally the two together (with a tinge of smoky grey for extra appeal) do it for me.
This is such a cool conversation.

Ohhh, complimentaries! I personally like adding grey to minty green for painting around eyes to give that kind of veiny, thin-skin, sickly look.

Damn right this is a cool conversation; colours are awesome!

Yeah but it has to specific shades of red and green... I don't know how colour-blind people cope. Suppose they just don't know what they're missing.

I love sappy, mossy greens and deep reds. Mmm, lovely.

I weep for the colour blind.

Trees are amazing. They're so majestic and powerful. And hell, WE NEEDZ THEIR OXYGENZ.

This might be one of my favorites from you. The colors create an unsettling mood [at least for me, and maybe the little child under the tree.] yet they're complex and damn, I love the light and shadows. Especially around the face. The perspective's ace as well, that kid seems so tiny against the tree. Like ee's woried about becoming insignificant or something. [hahah, I interperet art. :B]

Wow, you make this seem all 'deep ARTEESTIC MAZTRPEEZ' from the way you interpreted this! THANK YOU, TELLGEE.

Damn right trees are boss!

I love the little-guy-under-the-tree's expression, and the POV and the coloring! Oh and the squiggly lines (that's a technical term by the way) of highlighting.

OMG scales-kun. You have gotten so good. and about the yellow. I just see it as green in this. so don't worry about that. The darker colors make it look greener.

pure magic from Scales <3
