I had an absolute blast with this piece. When xElwing over on PonyIsland reached out to me about the concept for this piece for their pony Vespera I absolutely fell in love.

I really enjoy getting to work with water in my artwork, and when xElwing told me about their vision of Vespera in a moon pool with floating lotuses, I was delighted. I got the concept sketched up fairly quickly, being incredibly inspired, and then promptly caught Covid and was down for nearly two weeks immediately after. They were very understanding about me taking a little extra time to finish things up, and boy, I think it was worth it.

I've been working towards pushing my use of light and shadow and overall expressing values in my pieces, as well as finding fun ways to add details to more 'illustrated' works.
